I arrive at the diner and started my shift as a waitress. I go to the dressing area and change clothes. I was already half naked when suddenly the door opens. A man, maybe in his early twenties walked in and our eyes meet.
“Oh shit.” I mutter as I scramble to the floor to get my top and cover my body.
“Oh. I’m sorry. I didn’t see you there.” He apologizes in an American accent.
“It’s okay.”
I hate these unisex dressing rooms. Why do they always have to save money on these. It’s a dressing room, for pete’s sake.
“Are you new here? I’ve never seen you before.” I ask.
“Oh yeah. I’m just trying out. I don’t really need a job but I figured for experience, you know.” He smirks at me.
“Yeah I guess you could say that. So what position are you applying for?” I ask innocently
“Well, I was going to try out as a waiter.”
“Oh cool. I’m a waitress actually.”
“That’s nice. Maybe you can teach me some tricks.”
Tricks? Tricks in waitressing? Is he nuts?
“Well maybe..” I smile. “Can you please turn around so I can put this on?” I hold the skirt up.
“Okay. I will need to change as well so please turn around.” He smiles brightly as though he was teasing me.
I turn around and started undressing. I finally finish as I hear him zipping his pants. Okay, now I think it’s safe to turn around. I swivel my feet casually and his eyes meet mine. He was topless. He has toned biceps and an eight pack. Shit. He hasn’t turned around. He had seen me naked or at least in my undies. Suddenly, I feel hot and prickly.
“I told you to turn around!” I glared at him.
“I did. I was just trying to get my shirt on the bench.”
There’s a bench in the middle of us. His shirt was neatly folded and sitting on the bench.
“Oh.” I feel steam coming out of my ears. “I’m sorry. I’ll just go now.”
I close my locker and run out. I sit down to a near bench to calm my nerves. I’m already sweaty and I haven’t even started my shift yet.
Gosh. That was pretty embarrassing.
