Author's Point-of-View
"OMG," Sunshine gasped. "I can't believe that's Von Pessumal.. in flesh."
"Well, you better believe that because you just won't be staring at him from afar tonight." Karla said and went straight to Von who was mingling with the other Blue Eagles in their table.
"Look at my Bubba, trying to be a matchmaker tonight." Nico Salva who was sitting next to Greg adoringly commented.
Karla came back clutching Von's arm. Sunshine, on the other hand, was quietly staring at Von with wide-open eyes.
"Kumusta, paps!" Von greeted when they arrived in their table table. "How's PBA doing, idol?" he asked Greg.
"It's okay, man," Greg casually replied. "You've been playing big in UAAP, huh."
"Thanks, man! All of us are really working hard to get the championship this season."
"Okay, boys. Enough with the basketball talk." Karla interrupted. "Von, I brought you here because I wanted you to meet our new friend, Sunshine."
"Oh, hello Sunshine." Von greeted. "Nice to meet you."
Sunshine beamed a bright, sweet smile. "Hi, Von! Omg, I'm a really big fan of you!"
"Really? Thank you!"
Sunshine quickly fished for her phone from her purse, "I know this isn't the right time for my fangirl feels, but.. can we take a selfie together?" she asked while clutching on her phone.
"Sure! Sure!" Von gladly agreed and took Sunshine's phone to capture a selfie. "Let's take some photos in my phone too so I can post in on my Instagram."
"Yay!!" Sunshine piped in glee.
"Nice dress, by the way. Kinda suits my sleeves." Von commented after taking selfies with her.
Sunshine's eyes grew wider, "Oh my god, oo nga."
"Destiny!!" Karla blurted out, "Destiny yan, guys! You are meant to be!"
The rest of the guys in the table just laughed at Karla's antics.
"So who bought you here as a date?" Von asked Sunshine.
Sunshine nodded, acknowledging Von's inquiry. "Oh, that. Greg did."
"Really? May date ka pala." Von said, surprised. "Are you guys going out? What happened to Chloe?" Von turned to Greg.
"No, no. Just friends, man." The big man answered for Sunshine. "Chloe and I broke up a couple of months ago."
Sunshine, though, felt a bit sad hearing that from Greg. She knows they're just friends but that is the main reason why she felt a bit sad -they were just friends.
Von nodded, "It just didn't work out, did it?"
"We were never in the same page."
"I see," the UAAP player acknowledged, "my guess is you're seeing a new one right now?"
"Yeah, but not really. We are literally seeing each other, though." Greg vaguely answered while trying to drop some hints for Sunshine to assume that it's her he's referring to. "I like this girl a lot but we're not really a thing.. yet."
"Whoever that is, good luck, idol."
"Lucky girl, she is! Anyway, guys," Karla interrupted "why don't we just enjoy each other's company and give some space to our baby orange couple here." Karla suggested.
Baby orange couple?? Since when did they become a couple? Greg mentally asked himself.
"Go ahead, lovebirds." Karla said to them and winked.
