Meadowpaw stood still, her fur on end, as time slowed. The two cats clashed against each other, and writhered on the ground, hissing and clawing. She was terrified. She was even more scared when Yellowpaw stared at her. Was he going to attack her? The tom jumped, and she braced herself for impact. But he skidded to a halt next to her and hissed in her ear,

"Run and get out of here."

With a quick glance, she turned around, nudged Cinderpaw, and the two started to run back to the direction of the camp. As soon as they bursted in, the Clan was already alarmed.

"StormClan is attacking!" Meadowpaw screeched, and she saw her father's green eyes narrow. She swore she saw a deep, dark, and protective fire in his eyes. He landed to the ground and curled his tail around his terrified daughter, and called,

"Mallowfur, Spiderleg, Hollypaw, Nightpaw, Kettlefern, Darkfoot, Cheerypelt, Ashwood, and Robinfeather, go."

Meadowpaw watched as her Clanmates streamed out of the camp, ears flat against their heads as they split into separate patrols. But one question stood in her mind as the chaos rained down upon all of them, Why did Yellowpaw save me?

"Your first gathering. Are you excited?" Mewed Meadowpaw's mother as she soothed the apprentices fluffy cream fur.

"Of course I am. I get to see all the Clans." And Yellowpaw, she thought.
"Good. But I want you to stay away from StormClan. They proved they are hostile and I don't want then to hurt you."

"I'll be fine", She mewed, ducking her head, "Iceclaw showed me a couple of defense battle moves."
"Alright then..but remember the truce. No fighting."
  "I won't disappoint StarClan, mother."

Meadowpaw scanned the camp and caught the attention of Tanglebush, who was trying to sooth his tangled brown fur. With her fur quivering, she bounded over to the warrior. His amber eyes softened when he saw her, and she purred with delight. The tom bent forward and touched noses with her.

"You're going to stay by my side during the meeting, so those fox-hearted StormClan cats can't hurt you." He murmured. Meadowpaw felt her fur heat up, not in embarrassment, but in slight anger.
"But I want to meet other apprentices!" She argued, but she fell silent when his tail twined with hers. Does he..does he have a crush on me like how I have one on him?

"I know, but Acornfur would do anything to harm you. Our Clans never got along after you were born."
  "What happened?"
"Well....I actually don't know. Only the older warriors and elders know. All I know is that it was a bitter rivalry. Both Clans used to be allies."

"Oh." She meowed, surprised. He sighed, as if disappointed, and untwined their tails when Birchstar called for them to go.
"C'mon, I'll introduce you to a couple of cats that I know."

The two cats padded out of the camp, followed by their Clan. The moon showed bright and full, promising that the truce will last. Or will it?
