Timeskip 2 months after...
Sting finally realized that fell desperately in love with Lucy. He failed to notice that he's been pouring his attention towards her through making her happy as much as he can. Fortunately, Lucy responded to his affection after two months of staying under one roof.
However, neither of them have that affirmation whether what they felt is merely an unrequited love or not. Both of them neither have the courage to say what they really feel for each other. Instead, they shared these emotions to their comrades, which was a bit off.
At the Sabertooth bar
"Your falling in love in her?" Rogue asked Sting.
Sting nodded, "Yes, but I don't know what to do. It's my first time to fell in love with a girl."
"You must tell her that you love her. That's a no-brainer answer. Even the most stupid person knows that," Yukino interrupted.
"Your right Yukino. Sting, it is the best way. So that you would know, what she really feels for you," Rogue said.
"Right. I'm the Great Almighty Sting! I must tell her I loved her," Sting said with full of determination. "I must go to the apartment. I know Lucy is resting there," he said, while he's full of himself.
"Lector, can you please stay with Rogue?" Sting asked Lector.
"If its alright with Rogue." Lector replied.
"It's alright. Yukino will be coming there together with Rufus. Frosch will be glad if he has a company," Rogue affirmed.
"And Sting-kun is my master. I will obey him," Lector said.
"Thank you. Rogue, Lector," Sting said.
Sting headed to their apartment. He was very nervous, what if Lucy didn't like him. He was sweating a lot while frequently asked himself nervously about the outcome of this move. It was his first time to have this situation, so he didn't have any idea how to make his emotions upfront and manage to reveal them to Lucy as manly as possible.
In the apartment
Sting arrived in the apartment. He stopped right in front of the door and courageously opened it. "I'm home."
"Welcome back, Sting," Lucy smiled a bit as she took a glance of him, while sitting in the sofa and reading the books she just bought. "Sting, did you eat dinner?" Lucy asked. She didn't notice Sting's steps towards her.
"Yes. Yukino treated me a curry," he replied and sat to the other side of the sofa, just in front of the one where Lucy sat.
"Your reading the new books?" Sting asked.
Lucy nodded, "The stories are very interesting."
"Uhmm. Lector's not with you today."
"Hmm. Lector stayed at Rogue tonight."
"Uhmm. Lucy?"
"Yes, Sting?" She looked at him, though she's blushing. But she manged to keep herself together.
"I'd like to ask you if you ever like someone in the guild?" He blushed and trembling.
Lucy blushed, "Of course. I do."
"I know it would be a bit personal to ask, but I wonder who that lucky person is?" Sting asked while he tried to hide his face with his hair.
Lucy didn't answer and breathed heavily. She looked on the pages and flipped them slowly. Sting stood up and said, "I know it's a bit too much to ask that question. And I know it's also your right to remain silent about it. Anyway, whoever the man is, he's very fortunate to have you in his life. You are special, Lucy. I got to go now," he took a few steps away from her and tried to keep his tears.
"Wait," Lucy closed the book she brought and stood from the sofa and decided to take a few steps towards Sting, who was already standing at the door. "Sting, I have something to tell you, too.
Sting looked at her with teary eyes.
"Sting, I'm very pleased to know what you have to say. I know those words are really sincere. I appreciate that. However," she paused.
He felt like he was dead for some seconds, without knowing what to do with the next word she'll say. He was trembling, sweating, out of the extreme anxiety he felt that time. He didn't have the strong energy he usually do have during battles. He was complete restless, while trying to keep still to Lucy, who's looking at him in his eyes.
Lucy took his hand, Sting was shock when she did.
"However, I didn't expect that from you. Your strength is admirable, Sting. But, I really didn't know you'll be showing that soft side from you as well." She smiled.
Sting finally cried with some tears from his eyes falling on his face. "Lucy."
She reached towards his face and wiped his tears with her hand. "You told me that I'm special, Sting. When I heard that, you don't have any idea how happy I was. My lonely soul suddenly was awaken after you said them. At that split second, I finally know what I am to you."
"How do you know that? You didn't even tell me that person who took your hear, Lucy. You just went silent ---"
Lucy placed her finger on his lips. "Shhh... Tell me, Sting, why would you care about that person if you didn't intend to tell me your true feelings then?"
"Why are you clever, Lucy?"
"Maybe I was born with that. All through the days, months, years we've been together with the battles we faced, you always have that passion to beat the evil for the sake of the special people behind, Sting. When I was in danger, I saw that extreme fear from your eyes if I did fail to live at that time."
"Lucy..."
"In silence, I've ever wanted to ask if there has been somebody living in your heart. But, unlike you, I always have weak knees in these matters. I know you'll say I'm a strong, fiery woman, Sting, but I failed to say these words to you though I planned to say them for real."
She took his hand and placed it on her heart. With tears in her eyes, "I've been so desperate to tell you how desperately in love I am to you, Sting."
Sting cried. "I'm happy to hear that from you, Lucy. I'm glad you love me. I thought there is somebody other than me who's far more special than me who truly owned your heart."
Lucy smiled. He cupped her face and wiped away her tears. "I love you, Lucy."
"Me, too, Sting."
They hugged each other and kissed.
Finally, she said she love me and we're together. I'm happy. Lucy, you have no idea how much I wanted to grab you in my arms for a long time. Now, that I have you, I'm grateful.
