Chapter 9

2 month...it's been an endless cycle of screaming, hallucinating, and crying. I miss him and need him here with me. We chat but lately he has been so busy...I haven't talked to him....

I scream for the second time tonight waking up my friend Beth she runs in with a tired look. "Are you here Catty or in Afghanistan?" she said slowly walking up to me "I'm here.." rubbing my face roughly. I have been living with her since I couldn't handle being in my home missing my boyfriend.

I get out of bed looking at the time. "well I should be up and you should be too Air force chick" I joked forgetting my reason for being awake, she playfully glared. "I still don't know how you went from wanting to join the Air force to joining the marines." she said shaking her head laughing

I shrugged then turned around while doing my hair. "I think it's cause I was trying to change up family tradition...I have army, air force, and guard so I decided to change it up a bit." I murmured laughing.

"Well I think the Marines are lucky to have you and your intelligence. They could use it to their advantage." she said putting on her uniform me putting my boots on. I laugh "Beth I'm not that smart, I wish I was." I said

She rolled her eyes putting her hat on. "Whatever lets go get something to eat sergeant Baker." I cringed slightly laughing "Roger that Lieutenant Vay" we laugh and walk to her jeep.

"Catty you need to get promoted already." she said driving I looked at the passing trees. "I will hopefully one day" she bites her lip "What's your rank and what is Justice's" she asked I looked over.

"I'm rank E-6 he is E-9" I said thinking about him. "I totally just realized that I disrespected him back in Afghanistan" I laughed sighing. She smiles parking the car I get out and walk with her into Waffle House.

We sat in a booth waiting for a waiter. "hello ladies I'm Mark can I get you two lovely ladies something to drink." I look at him and smile he had black hair and hazel eyes "I'll have a coffee and a water" I look at Beth who shows a look towards me. "I'll have the same." he nodded and gave a smile and walked away.

"OKAY Catty stop being a dude magnet. YOU have a boyfriend." she muttered I laugh "I know I have a boyfriend, I will happily make it clear to him if he tries anything. But he looks like he is about 19 years old, emo maybe?" I murmured

she busted out laughing I hide my face slowly laughing with her. "I swear you haven't changed since high school." I said soon Mark came back with our drinks and we ordered him blushing at Beth who teased him about me.

"I swear you enjoy torturing people." I said rolling my eyes Mark gave us our food and turned to me. "uhm would like anything else?" Beth hid her laugh. "Nothing for me hun" I said causing to blush "How old do you think I am darling?" I ask "19?" he asked I shake my head laughed. "I'm flattered but I'm 23 darling."

he blushed and laughed nervously. "I'm sorry you're so pretty and you too ma'am" we thank him and watch as he walks away. "Alright we gotta hurry don't wanna be late" Beth said digging in I did too. 

"Remember I will be here at 5 to pick you up okay?" she said I nod and watch as she leaves to her job I walk into the building and look around. I go to the gym and watch everyone stretching. "HELLO LADIES" I yell I watch as people jump and quickly stand straight.

"Seriously guys I'm doing nothing but leading PT enjoy but not too much I will get in trouble if you do." I wink and watch as buff men and strong women laugh.

"Alright partner up and start with sit ups till I say stop!" I yell they all get around as I watch when I turn to see Gasser running towards me with a freaked out look.

"Sergeant Gasser glad to see you" he laughed nervously "I am glad I just need to lead it" he sighed I nodded in agreement. 

TIME JUUUMP~~~~

I walked out of the building sweaty and gross. I look to see Beth driving up. "Get in I want to take you out tonight so when we get home shower and change into something nice" I laugh and shook my head "Why the random date?" I asked strapping in as we head home.

"Just felt like it" she muttered I sighed watching the world passing by.

I got home and headed my room and took a nice shower. I get out with a towel around my body. I look through my closet and decided to wear Justice's favorite dress. The color was dark red and it fit tight around the right places.

I chose my 3 inch heeled boots and laughed silently at how short I was. 5'5 with these on..sad I shook the thought of him and grabbing my phone went to see Beth who looked ready too.

"Alright let's go!" she said childishly I laugh once again getting into the car "Where exactly are we going?" I ask "You'll see" I raise a brow and look forward "I look around to see the familiar place that brought back memories. "T-the beach?" I tear up at the sight "The cafe is great so lets enjoy the wine and cakes" she said I nod and we walk in. 

"reservation for Vay" she said the lady searched and nodded smiling "right this way." we followed to see that there was someone already sitting there. As we got closer I saw the face I missed turn to look at me with the blue eyes and smirk.

"surprise" Beth said taking her phone out. I run and jump into his arms remembering when I had done it the first day we met. "Baby" his voice.. he lets go and I do too. Then the unthinkable happened.

He was on one knee "baby when we first we were both young..and dumb..hell we still are but while I was still in Afghanistan I learned that life was too short to drag through the mud, so here I am asking you the big question, will you marry me?" 

I stood there smiling and crying..."Yes..yes a million times yes"
