From Cyrus's point of view:

Okay I'll take a deep breath and then I'll just tell her.

"Iris I don't like you I like Jonah. Surprise! Bet you never saw that one coming! Uhh no." I'm rehearsing what to say in the mirror. Even though I would never say that to her.

I hear the doorbell "Cyrus, she's here." Mom says. I run down the stairs and try to calm down.

"Hi Iris!" I say as I walk out onto the porch.

"Cyrus." She says smiling as usual.

"So I was wanting to talk to you." I say slowly. We take a seat on the steps.

"Me too. You've been really distant lately, and I don't know what's going on. But I think we are really good friends and that's what we should be for now." She says.

That was easier than I thought it would be. "That's exactly what I was going to say Iris! I'm going through... Something right now and I don't really think being in a relationship is the best way to help me deal with it." I admit and she looks at me with confused eyes. "I.. Don't want to go into more detail." I say.

"I understand." She's so understanding. "You're still my museum buddy Cyrus and one of my best friends." She rests her head on my shoulder.

"Iris just know that I'm really upset I can't date you right now." I am upset.
