And so it begins.

The door shuts behind him, the sound of the outside world being drowned out and leaving me in the peaceful silence of the store.

Alone.

I could get used to this, it's a part of being with him so I'll have to acclimate but I don't think I will ever get used to the split second sympathetic look Hunter gave me the moment Harry was really gone.

It makes my heart sink because I know I'll just keep seeing it. Over and over I will be left behind and I will get that look when I really don't deserve it. I'm with Harry and happy so if we need to travel like this then I'll deal with it.

It's a small price to pay to actually be with him.

Never the less I have to turn away before that one single look consumes me. I should feel sorry for myself. I have bigger things to deal with at the moment. I still have to find something for Harry. I might be going overboard but when someone gives you so much on a daily basis like he does, you want to make sure the little you can give is special.

I slowly turn on my heel taking in the wide array of bags and clothes and shoes in the store. They all look beautiful but I have no idea what Harry might like. Like Monica said I am sure Harry would put on a smile and be happy with whatever I come up with but I want him to actually enjoy it, put it to good use.

It's my fault I'm in this situation, to begin with though. I should have paid more attention to what he was saying rather than watching how his jaw moved while he spoke.

Damn him and his chiseled jawline.

As the associates busy themselves putting away all the things Harry didn't want around me, I stroll over to the wall of shoes. I know they had set some out for him but I can't remember if he liked anything in particular.

Perhaps I should just put on my red Victoria Secret lace set and just do that. I already know I would be a total trainwreck but maybe it would give him a good laugh.

"Miss," I jump out of my skin turning to see who it is. "Can I help you with anything?"

I place my hand on my chest trying to calm down my heart. The room was so quiet a moment ago, I wasn't expecting someone to come help but maybe she knows something I don't.

"I hope so, um..." I look between the girl and the wall of fine leather goods hoping something might jump out at me but sadly nothing does. "You wouldn't happen to know what Harry likes would you?"

"Mr. Styles?"

"Ya... um, maybe something he looked at but didn't purchase tonight?"

Harry not buying something seems almost impossible with the number of things he walked out with tonight. Wouldn't be surprised if he walked out with the whole store.

"Of course," she chirps starting to walk away. I follow and listen to her every word.

This might actually work.

"Mr. Styles was mainly looking at gifts but he did take some time looking at these Miss."

She pulls down a pair of plan leather open back slippers with a gold clasp over the top of the foot. "They've been very popular this season."

I take the shoe from her, feeling the smooth leather and the coolness of the clasp. I wouldn't have picked these out myself but then again, I've been very distracted. They are a classic style and look comfortable.

Maybe I want a pair myself.

No Mia, focus. You aren't shopping for yourself.

These could really work. With Harry's eclectic taste I'm sure he could find some outfit to wear them with.

"What's your name?"

"Kim."

"Well Kim, you've saved me tonight. I'll take them," I say with a smile and then I pause. "You don't happen to know his shoe size do you?"

Wow, girlfriend of the year goes to me... First I don't know what he might like and now I don't even know my boyfriend's shoe size.

She nods and heads to the back of the store as I walk over to the cash wrap.

I pull my wallet out and take out the card that I've hidden behind all the other things in here. My thumb brushes over my family name on the black card, my heart pinching reminding me how much I miss them.

I promised myself I wouldn't use it unless I was in an emergency. Since I lost my parent's I have been able to manage on the funds that I was able to transfer before everything changed. But I don't think I can justify this purchase with my writer's salary. Not until the book is actually done and out there for the rest of the world to see.

Oh, gift idea.

Maybe I won't be a complete lost cause this Christmas.

Kim is back out with Harry's size within a few minutes, pulling me out of my little pity party for me and my dead parents.

"We can also personalize them if you like. Make them unique."

"Really?" I had the card over and cross my fingers that Edmund still isn't searching.

When I disappeared into thin air I knew he would look for me. That is was sick sadistic jealous people do. But it's been years. I'm sure he's over the chase now. He must have moved on and finally, I have as well.

Luckily I have Harry now and while he doesn't fill the void completely he definitely doesn't make me feel alone anymore and above all, makes me feel very very safe.

"How could you do that," grasping at any chance to make this the best present it can be.

"Well, might I suggest a small monogram on the top corner, just over the clasp," Kim explains pulling out one of the shoes and pointing to the spot.

"That sounds lovely but we leave tomorrow and I couldn't possibly ask–"

"Oh well for Mr. Styles we'd be happy to get them done tonight," she tries to suppress a smile as blush rises on her face. The evidence of Harry charm rubbing off on yet another stranger. "It would only take about thirty-five minutes." I nod as she passes them off to someone else who I assume will monogram them.

"Would you like me to put them on Mr. Styles account?"

"No!" I snap at Kim before I can control my harsh tone.

Hunter is by my side in an instant. "Mia are you alright here?" He asks holding my upper arm for a moment before stepping back.

"Yes, I'm fine," I answer him before turning back to Kim. "Sorry, I meant no thank you. I'll be paying for them myself."

"Of course," she smiles seemingly unphased by my outburst. "I think he'll love them."

I watch her every move as she takes my card and goes about completing my transaction. Call me overly jealous but my heart just stopped when she said that. Almost like she knows him or something.

But she doesn't.

She doesn't know him, barely anyone does. He's so reserved and quiet and careful with what he puts out into the world. Harry makes you feel like you're the only person in the world but that doesn't translate into knowing a person.
