Freaks Like Us

Chapter Eighteen

The defense training was made so we could learn for the rest of year in gym class. Over the weeks he has just been teaching moves. We haven't fought with each other in a while, but today is going to be different I heard.

We walked in and the blood stained mats were back.

"Today, you are going to a fight again. This time, when I call out your name you are going to pick someone who you want to fight with. I suggest you pick someone you can beat, save you time and theirs.", Wrath said.

"Jenny."

"I pick Mike."

"Claire."

"I want Lori."

"Sarah."

"I'll fight Lupa."

Really? Sarah wants to fight me? Apparently she thinks without my strength I'm too weak to fight. Too bad she thought wrong.

Wrath continued down the list and Robin picked the big guy Ryan. Lucas got picked by Liam actually. I was actually quite surprised.

Jenny and Mike fought first and was over quick. Mike really beat the shit out of her. I almost felt bad and wanted to go in to help her, but she was stupid enough to pick him.

Next was Claire and Lori, but it ended with them just hitting each other lightly.

Then it was me and Sarah. We each walked up to our side the mats and got ready. Wrath put the power limiting bracelets on me and we were set to fight.

I made the first move by running up and punching her in the face. She staggered back.

"Wow, baby girl here has a mean punch? Maybe you should go cry to your parents next time instead of the bathroom."

I stayed silent and punched her in the stomach as hard as I could. She staggered back more.

"Oh wait? Isn't your parents dead?", she said again trying to punch me now. But, I moved to the side and hooked her in the face. She fell down on to the mat.

I still stayed silent.

"But didn't your loving Lucas come and save you? Right-", I kicked her in the stomach as hard as I could. Not a word.

"Righ-Right? But, I thought you broke me and Liam up just so you two could get to-", I kicked in the face that time, shutting her up for good.

I then bent down onto my knees next to her,

"If you are going to insult me, you might wanna do it somewhere else then in a fist fight."

She was out cold. I walked away, and stood next to Robin. She patted me on the back. She was next.

Their fight didn't even last long, she got up and immediately ran up to jump kick him on the head. He wasn't expecting it so he just flopped over and couldn't get back up again. We all laughed especially when Robin put on foot on top of him and started flexing her arms.

Then it was Lucas verses Liam. They are pretty much evenly matched if Liam's strength is out of it. Wrath put the bracelet on Liam, and Me and Robin stood side by side waiting for the first move. They each took their sides and stood prepared.

Then Liam ran forward and attempted punching Lucas, but Lucas moved out of the way just in time.

Lucas turned around and kicked Liam in the side. He staggered to the side, but regained his footing.

Liam came charging again, but Lucas once again ran to the side and coat hangered him in the throat. Liam fell down onto his back. That was the end of the fight. Lucas turned around to walk off.

But, Liam got up and ran at him again. It felt like we were in slow motion. Liam, fist raised, running at him. That's when I noticed Liam didn't have the bracelet on. He was going to run full at Lucas and punch him across the room.

"No!", I screamed, but time sped up and I was too late.

Lucas turned around to be punched square in the chest. He flew across the gym and hit the back wall. Everyone stood still for a few seconds before me and Robin ran over to him.

We got over there and he was knocked-out.

"Robin, go get the nurse.", I said trying to wake Lucas up. He wasn't moving.

"Come on wake-up Lucas. Please.", I said shaking him.

Soon enough Robin and the Nurse came rushing in with a stretcher. The Nurse and Mr. Wrath picked up Lucas and put him on the stretcher and carried him out of the gym and to the infirmary.

All three of us, me Robin and Liam, ran down the hallway behind them.
