When the autumn comes, I want to be there to care for you.
Despite only entering the Xu Enterprise, Yihan's parents' company in R city, for only a weekend, Yihan already received praises from his fellow workers for the ideas he generated and the neat and innovative proposals he handed in for different projects. There were many companies the Xu Enterprise owned throughout the country, but the headquarters lied in R city. Yihan was never worried that he would not be able to get recognition from the members of the office, even if some of his jealous co-workers badmouthed him, saying that he rode the coattails to get a place in the company in spite of being only 18 years old. Yihan never cared for such rumours, or should he say, he learnt not to care.
When you learn to live by yourself, learn by yourself and work by yourself, you wouldn't even care for others' opinions towards yourself.
There was no need to care for such boneless rumours since Yihan never really allowed them to interrupt his thoughts.
Since Yihan was homeschooled, he could go back to S town where his villa situated whenever he desired. In fact, his father wanted him to stay in R city to continue learning from his uncle, who was an executive in the Xu Enterprise. That was more than enough reason for him to stay in R city.
Then Jorden Liew came along.
Sitting in his car right now, Yihan shut his eyes closed, the whistle his family driver, Uncle Lee made resounding in the car as more greenery passed by. Yihan could drive back on his own since he had a license but his mother insisted on letting Uncle Lee send him back to S town. Yihan, being the good son complied.
With his eyes closed now, Jorden's smiling face showed up in his mind, monopolizing all of his thoughts for the entire car ride. Is he alright now? He had a cold three days ago... Meeting Jorden in R city was out of Yihan's expectation. Uncovering Jorden's mask was something that he never expected to do, too. Yihan always thought that the latter was an extroverted guy who he thought he would never interact with after their first encounter.
Jorden was the type of person he could never see himself befriending with.
Yet, he couldn't help but to go to the forest every day since the day they met. Even though Jorden was the one who did most of the talking, Yihan felt that it was nice to listen to his voice while the cicadas sang in the background. Jorden's voice wasn't what he would call bewitching, or even beautiful but there was a tone in the latter's voice that attracted him to stay. Jorden's laughter was contagious - for some reason, whenever he heard his laughter Yihan couldn't help but smile too. Never in his life did he think that a man's voice could be so soothing to hear until Jorden Liew barged into his life. Honestly, if Jorden's personality wasn't assertive, Yihan would never even have talked to him in the first place. Under Jorden's goofiness, there were so many layers to him that Yihan wanted to peel off. So many layers that made Jorden so entertaining to look at and listen to.
This was the first time Yihan felt so strongly for a friend he had just met.
Opening his eyes, he fished his phone out and pressed the switch. The watercolour background he put as his lock screen wallpaper flashed brightly, but Yihan's finger remained on the button, refusing to enter the password to enter the phone. He went back to S town yesterday since he has school but did he actually take care of himself? Did he take the medicine that the doctor prescribed to him? Should I remind him of it? That guy... He let out a long sigh but he ended up messaging Jorden. What should I say?
'Take your medicine regularly or else you pay me back the money.' Immediately, Yihan backspaced the entire thing. That doesn't even sound caring at all.
