(Y/n)'s P.O.V.
I swung my bag over my shoulder, and walked outside towards the carriage. I was finally fully healed, and was heading toward the survey corps. The regiment I decided to join after the battle of Trost. I still hadn't died even though my death date had passed. I hadn't told anyone since I figured it out. I didn't see what the big deal was.... If I wasn't going to die might as well join the survey corps. The boy I loved was already dead, and the rest of my friends were in the survey corps. Might as well put it to use. I stepped into the carriage, and sat facing the front. I was the only one their, and I was grateful for it. I tried not to look down at my wrist, but I couldn't help it. Why couldn't he have lived? Why wasn't it me? Why didn't I die?

I stepped out of the carriage, and started walking towards their headquarters. An old castle. Not the place I would have chosen, but still.... I saw other recruits and some of my friends training out on a practice field. I looked away, and saw 3 people waiting for me. I'm guessing it was the commander, corporal, and squad leader. I saluted them as soon as was close enough. The blonde one I recognized as commander Erwin waved it off. "Were glad to have to have you in the survey corps cadet." He welcomed. I just nodded. Not really knowing what to say. "Hanji will show you to the girls dorms, and give you your uniform. You'll also be in her squad for our expeditions. We have one coming up in a week. I know its soon, but you'll be fine. Now Levi and I have business to attend to." He walked away with the shorter, black haired one. Humanities strongest soldier.
"Ohhh, follow me I'm Hanji Zoe. Your new squad leader." She re-introduced herself as I followed her. I some of my friends starring at me. Probably surprised I recovered so quickly. I waved to Jean as soon as he noticed me. He smiled, and waved back. I'm glad at least he's okay. She was talking while I followed her, but I kinda zoned out. "Here you go!" She said opening a door. It was perfectly spotless which I didn't expect. "Thats your bunk!" She said pointing to one with my new uniform on it. "You'll be sharing it with Ymir. She's on the top." I nodded setting my bag down. "Once you change come down to the training grounds, and you can meet you new squad!" She yelled. She was way to excited for my taste.

I sat between Jean and Sasha at dinner. Everyone was as talkative as I remember. I stayed silent till they brought up a sensitive topic. "So Sasha when is your death date?" Connie asked her. "Not for a long time." She bragged. "Well so is mine." He told her. "I mean for a long time." He continued. "Mine isn't for years." Jean told the rest of us cockily. "Whens yours (Y/n)?" Connie asked me. I didn't answer. I just stayed silent. They all stared at me silently. "When is it?" Jean asked me, but it sounded more like a demand. "I hasn't come yet so you don't need to worry." I told him annoyed. "Well if its soon then why'd you join the survey corps. Its a sure fire way to get killed." He told me. "Its not soon." I sighed. "Then when is it?" "It already happened." I whispered. "What?" He asked me. "It already passed. I was suppose to die at Trost when that titan threw me into a wall. I shouldn't have lived, but I did." I told them with tears rolling down my face.
I tried to stop crying, but I couldn't. "What how is that even possible?" Connie asked us. It was only us 4 at our table. "I don't know...." She whispered. "Show me your wrist." Jean told me. "What?" Asked whimpered out. "Show me your wrist." I pulled down my left sleeve to show my wrist. It was still the date of the battle of Trost. He grabbed my wrist, and stared at it. Connie leaned over the table looking at it. As Sasha stretched over to to catch a glimpse. "Woah, how'd you do it?" Connie asked me. "D-do Wha-t?" I stuttered out. "Obviously live past your death date." He said a bit to loudly.
"Connie shut up." Jean told him. As the mess hall fell silent. I wiped away some of my tears as corporal Levi started walking over to our table. "Did I just hear what I think I heard, brats?" He asked. I shakily nodded my head. I had been here a couple hours, and he had already really scared me. "Tch, show me your wrist." I stretched out my wrist as he grabbed it a little to harshly. "How?" "Huh?" "How'd you do it brat? Their always right. Its impossible to live past them." He more of demanded me than asked me. I shrugged. "I don't know. I didn't do anything special. It just happened." "Four-eyes, Erwin she's telling the truth." He told them. The cafeteria was still silent.
"Go to my office now." I nodded walking office before glancing back at Jean first. He nodded reassuring me. I sat down on his couch in his office waiting for what seemed like forever. But it really only could've been about 15 minutes. The door opened and Hanji rushed over to me; grabbing my wrist. Examining it like crazy. "So you don't know how it happened?" Commander Erwin asked me. I shook my head. "I just woke up about a couple days after you cleared Trost, and I wasn't dead." I explained wiping away the rest of the tears from my eyes. He nodded. "Hanji she's going to be your responsibility. Until we know why she has lived past her death, and Hanji...." He stopped for a second looking at her. "No experiments without my permission. Not Levi's, or Mike's either." He told them. "Well then since she wouldn't be able to go on the expeditions can she be my assistant? Since she is valuable to humanity." Hanji asked him her voice full of hope. He sighed. "If its okay with her." She looked at me as her eyes sparkled. "Okay." I sighed giving in. "Just please don't hurt me with your experiments." She nodded. "I wouldn't do that." I nodded not really believing her. "Just don't let her get to close to your titans four-eyes." Corporal told her. Maybe living past my death date wouldn't be so bad.
