Misson Complete

I sighed in relief. The airtight door unlocked, letting cool air rush into the simulator. Slowly, I left the room and turned to my teacher, who gave me a thumbs up without looking up from his computer.

As soon as I opened the door into the classroom from the observation room, all eyes were on me. Some of them were worried some just happy to see me come out alive. All of them knew it was a simulation, but this simulation would determine their future here.

From what I'd heard of past Final Simulations, I'd done pretty well on mine. The Final Simulation wouldn't be our last simulation, but that made it sound cooler than just Finals.

Each simulation was different since students could freely gossip about their experience in the testing room. I'm sure the teachers would've banned talking if some of us didn't know Sign Language.

Once sitting, my friend Mia was the first to speak up, "How'd it go?"

"Well, I completed the mission, so that was great," I said, with optimism in my voice.

"What exactly happened?" My inquisitive friend, Regina asked.

"My mission was to take down a significant world leader in that world, known as General Watcher, which is an epic name. I started outside their base, an abandoned warehouse, which seems a bit cheesy. After sneaking in, I followed a group of businessmen in suits and found the general easily." Some others had wondered over to our table to hear about my mission, but I wasn't done yet.

"Then, I had to escape. Because I'd found him in his office, I would have to dispose of the body, and sneak out. The building was like a maze. Once I found a janitor's closet, I knocked the janitor out and stool her outfit. I snuck out undetected, with the body in the trash bag. For extra measures, I snuck the knocked out janitor too, so he'd be framed for it."

"Wow!" Mia exclaimed, amazed by my worked. I felt my face heat up, but I tried to smile through it confidently.

A few minutes passed, and finally, I spoke up.

"How long do you think it'll take?"

"23 minutes," Regina said calmly. We all stared at her, wondering how she'd come to that specific number.

"Well, considering how long it took the others, and how Toby does in class, I simply came to the conclusion of 23 minutes."

"I'd say 26"A male voice came from the back of the room. The kid appeared older, but I guessed it was the power of cosmetics and his darker persona. Only an angsty teen could pull that look off.

"You wanna bet?" Mia challenged, causing me to sigh. This happened a lot with the kids at this school and someone would lose some money in the process.

"Willing to bet five dollars?" The unnamed kid asked.

"Loser, if you were confident, you would go for ten." Mia challenged again.

"Ten it is"

I leand towards Regina, "how long has he been in there already"

"Twelve minutes," Regina responded.

I pulled out my phone and wasted away the time. Not long later, the door swung open and a defeated looking Toby came out.

Mia slid the still unnamed teen ten bucks and looked defeated as well. I was slightly surprised that Regina hadn't been right, but she seemed calmer then everyone else.

"How long was he in there exactly?" I asked.

"24 and thirty seconds" I sighed again and turned to the door. "How long do you think we'll be here?"

"Uh, I think we can leave whenever after we've gone." She responded.

"Then bye, suckers!" I yelled to the class and jumped out of my seat. I moved past the crowds and to the door, hungry for lunch. I turned to wave a goodbye, just as I heard Regina's name sound from the speakers.

Regina Y, report to the observation room and be ready for testing.

Regina breathed in and out deeply and marched into the room. With that, I walked out without even making a sound.
