Jacie seems happy. That's cool. She also seems like the opposite of myself.

We are sitting on the couches now, Leo close to me on one side, my parents in chairs, Jacie across from me.

"Um. . . " she looks around at us, unsure of what to say. Then her eyes light up.

"Nico, are you gay? It's okay if you are! I'm non-binary. Are you too?" She said it quickly, I felt very. . . vulnerable. Ugh.

"Oh, um. . . Actually, yeah. . . I'm gender-fluid, but I prefer 'gender-queer', and I'm also queer sexuality-wise. . . so, yeah. . ." I nodded.

Mamma and Papà nodded encouragingly, and Leo smiled and bumped my shoulder with his.

"So. . . What are your pronouns?"

"Anything but she/her works, I guess."

"Cool! I use she/her or they/them."

"Oh. Okay. Cool."

"Do you like listening to Nightcore?"

My eyes light up. "Yes! Do you?"

Hers light up to, "Yeah!"

"Uh oh. . ." Leo mutters. Uh-oh is right.

"Have you heard the Dusk Till Dawn Sing Off?"

"Have a heard it? I downloaded it! It makes me cry sometimes..."

"I know! It's so good!"

"What about 'Weak' by-"

"ALL OF THE VERSIONS!"

"SAME!"

"Does that mean you watch anime?"

"Sometimes. I really like Durarara!!"

"I watched most of it, it's okay. I really love Noragami."

"The last episode was the best."

"Of course it was! It was perfection!"

"Have you seen-"

"I hate to break this up, but what do you two want for dinner? Jacie?" Mama asked, mainly directed to Jacie.

"Oh, um. . . Spaghetti?"

"Nice." I reply.

Mama nods, "Will do! Nico, show Jacie her room."

Leo stands and helps me up, and I help up Jacie. "Come on, it's down the hall."
