The night we spent together

I stand in a field of sand, well a beach really. Violeta sits next to me with her toes buried in the sand. I turn and crouch down behind her, putting my arms around her neck. Her scent flows to my nose, vanilla.

I bury my face in her hair, "Are we swimming or not?" I question. She throws her head back and laughs. "Yes, but first, we're watching the show." She states while climbing onto me and planting a kiss onto my lips. It's like the first time I kissed her. The feeling of an entire zoo flying in my stomach. I close my eyes and feel her curl up on my legs. My eyes stay closed until I hear the familiar sound of popping fireworks, Violeta sits up immediately, intrigued at the hues of colors flying in the sky. Their sounds go off, bright sparks complemented by the dark sky with only a crescent moon. The sky is filled with purples, blues, reds, and all colors in existence.
It seemed like seconds before they finally stopped and Violeta turns to me with a grin. She stands, takes off her top to reveal her bikini hiding underneath and leads my hand to the sea with her.

Violeta wastes no time splashing me as much water as she can, which lead to my shrieks. I dive into the water again and again, tackling Violeta, into the waves a they pull me in. For the next hour our bodies are soaked and we're exhausted.

"You coming or not." Violeta asks rising from the water like a goddess. I stand up mesmerized at her, "I would follow you till the ends of time," I murmur slowly stumbling forward with no idea of where we were going.

"Come on Leila, it's not far." I trudge towards her direction my feet sinking in the sand with every step. She halts only for me to catch up to her and with a silent signal I intertwine my fingers with hers, and we walk in silence, to where I have no idea, but I simply don't care.

"Here we are." Violeta states, halting. "There's nothing here." I question at the normal sandy beach. "It's a local secret, they don't want people coming in here taking advantage of it." She says walking to behind a rock fishing out scuba gear. "Then why would they tell you?" I ask. "Well we both know I can be charming and persuasive." She answered. Violeta hands me gear and gives me the basics of diving.

As soon as I've picked up enough and we've both been strapped we're ready. My legs tremble and my arms seem shaky. It's clear I'm terrified. Violeta stops. She silently holds me leaning her head onto mine. It's at this moment that I feel completely safe, strong, powerful even. My legs and hands stop trembling. With a burst of confidence I pull my mask on and hold her hand and we leap from a cliff.
