     Chapter 44

"Wait! I need some Starbucks," Sarah protested as she tried to stop me.

"Sarah we have 15 minutes until our flight leaves we don't time to get distracted by the deliciousness of a Starbucks frappuccino so come on!" I pulled her along after me which was quite hard considering I had to hold all of her bags due to her "back problems" which was just a lame excuse not to hold her bags and get all sweaty in front of hot New York boys. Also it was pay back for what I'm making her do on the plane.

"I really hate you sometimes," she mumbled.

"Ditto," I muttered under my breath and she rolled her eyes at me.

   "Where's your uncle?" she asked.

"He's getting us breakfast he'll catch up with us," I told Sarah then she automatically stopped and pulled me into the nearest girls' bathroom.

"Sarah!" I yelled but she put her hand over my mouth.

"I just saw Austin and his mom," she told me with wide eyes. I bit my lip. Knowing that they were here made everything more real. I was going to have to talk to Austin today on the plane and there was no going back.

"Do you think he's passed now?" I asked. She shrugged.

"You go check, you're the one that's stalking him," she said. I smacked the back of her head.

   "Ow!" she yelled.

"Carry the bags," I said and dropped them on the floor. This felt weird. Hiding out in the bathroom for him?

I took a deep breath and pushed open the bathroom door maybe a little too hard. It hit something hard.

"I'm so sorry!" I yeleld but froze when I saw who was lying on the ground.

   "Um hey," he said awkwardly.

"Hey Austin," I said and scratched the back of my neck. He slowly stood up.

"So uh where's Sarah?" he asked.

"She's in there, the bathroom, which is there. Um I should go," I said and quickly turned around to go back inside but I ran into the door. Austin held back his laughter.

I quickly swung the door open again, a little too hard again and it hit him again.

"I'm sorry!" I yelled loudly and quickly disappeared inside. I leaned my back against the door and groaned. Sarah stood there smirking at me.

"You are quite the charmer, Shouse," she said quite amused.

   "Shut up."

   ***

We were one of the last people to enter the plane but luckily Austin was nowhere in sight yet. Uncle Ben went to his seat a few rows behind us while Sarah and I sat in our seats. I chose the window seat and Sarah sat on the end.

I had butterflies in my stomach. I don't think he knew that we were sitting by him yet. I sighed and put my headphones in my ears. Sarah did the same and I stared at the window watching the workers run around.

I felt someone sit down next to me and I turned to see an annoyed looking Austin. He's actually sitting next to me. Maybe this was a bad idea to talk now.

I let out a frustrated sigh and scooted away from him. My nerves were too much. I turned around a little bit and saw that his hands were shaking. His eyes were closed and he had his headphones on.
