He arrived at the hotel lobby as planned. I stood at the elevator doors in a black, skimpy cocktail dress and a set of black high heels. I held my clutch nervously waiting to spot him.

That's when I heard him call my name. "Ali," he yelled across the lobby, " over here!" He stood in his place as I walked over to him; judging eyes staring me down the entire way.

"Hello Liam," I said softly.

"Ali, it's so nice to finally see you again."

"It's good to see you again too, Liam."

"I really missed you," Liam said staring down at the floor. "You really look great!"

I stared down at the black fabric that seemed to stick to my skin instead of responding.

"Shall we?" Liam asked. I slipped my hand into the crease of his elbow and we strutted out of the hotel lobby.

Liam smiled at me outside while we were waiting on a car. The smile he gave me was incredible. It made me feel like I really was something special.

He opened my side of the car door and I slid into the backseat with him. The car ride was quite suspenseful. We would begin a conversation and never seem to finish it. He asked me about my brother and my parents. I guess that one was my fault because I didn't want to speak about my parents separation. That's when I changed the subject. I asked him why he decided to ask me out again.

"Well," He began, "when I saw who you were I just had to ask. You were beautiful and independent and that was extremely attractive." Liam answered.

I chuckled at his cheesy response. He knew what I thought about it immediately so he decided to reassure me that he really meant it.

He reached his hand over and ran his thumb over my cheek. I smiled at my legs and he got closer to my face.

"We're here!" Our driver yelled.

"Well.. let's go." Liam said. He got out first and ran around to the other side to open my door. I got out of the car slid my arm into his and we went into the Restaurant.

The place he took me to was called Clara's. It was this little place that was the finest in L.A. We drank champagne and ate our food. We laughed and talked. We had a lot of fun.

Before we finished a woman with a skanky look to her marched over to us.

"Liam! It's a wonderful surprise to see you out with... another girl," the woman said in her Australian accent.

I got a touch uneasy when she said that. I didn't understand what she meant until much later in mine and Liam's relationship.

After that night I didn't see Liam for a long while until I saw him on the street with the Australian girl we met that night. He was trying to tell me that they were just friends hanging out, but it was very hard to believe him.

I was a 20 year old girl wanting something more than one date.
