It had been three months since Phil spoke to Dan. He missed Dan like all hell, and couldn't make his way into the train fast enough.

Dan didn't know he was coming back today. Phil was excited to suprise Dan, and talk to his friend on the phone. He had briefly talked about it, mentioning how happy Dan made him. How Dan was the reason he was going.

Then he felt guilty. Why would he practically brag about dating someone else? This person's friend at that.

Phil kicked his shoes off when he got home. He slipped on more comfortable ones. He headed upstairs, thankful his dad would not be home.

He grabbed on a new jacket, and sighed. He then grabbed his phone, and turned it on. He started to walk outside, planning on going to go see Dan.

When he got to Dan's house, he took a deep breathe before knocking.

His mother opened it, shocked.

"Phil?" She gasped. She hugged him tightly. "I thought you were coming back in two more months!"

"Nope! I'm here earlier, they let me go because they thought I was fit enough to leave. How have things been? How are you and Dan?"

"We're well! Dan's been a bit depressed lately. He misses you bad. Right now he's out skating with his friends Tyler and Anthony."

"Do you know how long they were going to be there for?" Phil asked. Dan's mum shrugged.

"He was supposed to be back an hour ago," she told him. "Have you had dinner? I can get you some leftover pizza we have." Phil smiled. He had to really try to get better, and he couldn't pass up any meal. Not for a long time.

"Thanks. I'll have some."

It was around eight when the home phone at Dan's house rang. His mom let him stay there for a bit, expecting Dan to be back three hours ago.

"Hello? Oh, hi Dan. No, you're coming home tonight. I don't care that I'm being unfair. You're three hours late- no! You're not staying at Anthony's. You can tomorrow. I'll come get you if his parents won't drive you. Thank you. I'll see you in a bit then," Phil listened to the one side of the conversation, and smiled.

He was going to see Dan after three months.

He fidgeted with his hands. He was suddenly nervous. Why? He knew Dan would be happy to see him. He would be happy he was better, or at least mostly better. But Phil felt so nervous.

Knocking came from the door minutes later, and Dan came waltzing in. He didn't even look at Phil at first. He seemed angry, and Phil almost laughed. He had to put his hand over his mouth. His mom smiled.

"We were having fun! Why couldn't I stay the night? It's Saturday, you always let me-" Dan froze. His eyes opened wide when he saw Phil. The boy he hadn't seen in three months, his boyfriend, was right in front of him. He was in reach. Phil stood, and Dan ran into his arms. "Phil!" He yelled, squeezing him tightly.

Dan's mum laughed, but all Phil could focus on was Dan's arms around his waist. He noticed her walk out, but closed his eyes and leaned against Dan's head.

It felt so, so nice. Familiar, loving, Phil just wanted this forever.

Dan started sniffing, and Phil looked down.

"Dan, are you crying?"

"No?" Dan looked up, only slightly shorter than Phil. Phil smiled, and wiped a tear away.

"Don't cry, love. I'm here," Phil felt Dan shake slightly. That was, until Dan bursted out crying.

"Its been months, and I've been so lonely, I've missed you so much, I didn't think you'd be back for a long time!" Phil looked up to see Dan's mom leaving the room. "Phil, I missed you so much!"

"Hey, I'm here right now. And I'm better. You made me get better, and from now on I will be." Dan looked up, nodding. He smiled, leaning up to connect their lips.

And god, it was right then that Phil realized he loved Dan. All the adoration he had, all the fuzzy feelings inside, was because of Dan.

Phil loves Dan.

"Dan, thank you. Thank you so much for everything," he whispered, tears falling from his own eyes. His emotions were so strong, he couldn't help crying.
