T.W. Mentions of a previous suicide attempt
Patton's P.O.V~
I woke up early today. The last thing on my mind being the fact that it was Christmas Day. I got up off the couch and made my way to Virgil's room. I had insisted on sleeping at Virgil's incase he had a panic attack so that I could help him through it. I left the living room and walked into the kitchen. As I boiled the kettle I heard someone walk into the kitchen. "How are you feeling Virgil?" I turn around to see a disheveled puffy eyed Virgil walking towards me. "A bit better than I did yesterday. Midnight didn't thank me for changing back just now. Even though I told her I'd be back soon." I pull him into a hug quickly. "At least you didn't have any panic attacks right?" He freezes slightly. "Well you see... about that." I pull away from the hug to look at him. "Virgil! I told you to come get me. I've told you before I don't care what time it is if you need me to help calm you down I will always do it." He looks away from me sadly. "I know. I'm sorry, I just, I couldn't move and I could hardly breath. I am sorry I didn't get you though really." He sighs and pulls me into a hug. "I will next time I promise Patton. But thank you for worrying about me." I nod at him and squeeze him gently. "Have some food Virgil. Please." He shakes his head. "I'm not hungry, really I'm not." I sigh and pick up the kettle. "Eat something for me today okay?" He nods before heading out of the kitchen. "Alright." He turns back into a cat and heads to his room. I pick up my phone and phone Logan. After three rings he picks up. "Hello Patton." I smile after hearing his voice. "Hey Logan."
"How is he?" I sigh softly looking towards the stairs. "Not good. Apparantley he had a bad attack yesterday but didn't come to get me. He's already turned back into a cat and gone back to Midnight. I understand why, I do I just wish I could help." I hear him sigh softly through the phone. "I could get Roman to phone him if you'd like." I shrug before remembering he can't see me. "Thank you, but I don't know if he'll pick up." I remember what I was doing before and pour the water into my mug. "I can ask him anyway. Better to try, even if he doesn't pick up he'll be reminded that he has a whole group of people who care about him." I smile placing the kettle down. "Yeah, you're right. Thanks Logan." "No problem Patton. I'll talk to you later okay?" I pick up another mug before responding. "Yeah. Talk to you later." After hanging up I place some hot chocolate powder in the mug, knowing he drinks a lot of hot chocolate when he's stressed or upset."Virgil? I brought you something to drink." I wait for a couple of seconds before opening the door and walking into the room. "Virgil?" He undoes his transformation after a few seconds. "Patton. Is your mum really going to buy this place?" I nod my head slowly. "Why? It's going to cost so much money." I place the mug down on his desk before sitting next to him on the floor. "Well. Our mum's were already thinking of making them one house. Because if I wasn't at yours you were at ours so they figured it made sense. They wanted to keep it a secret to have it be a suprise. I only know because I asked her about it last night." He nods before walking over to his desk. He takes a sip of it before walking back over to me. "I should still thank her. Because she's talking about buying it. Not just making it one house with someone else." Once he stops talking he walks over to the window. "Hey Patton?" I look up at him slowly. "Yeah?" He leans on the window ledge facing away from me. "Do you remember when I jumped out of this window after my dad died?" I nod to him, even though he isn't looking at me. "I do. I remember finding you lying underneath the window and running inside to get your mum." He turns around to me. "Do you remember what I told you when you asked me why you did it?" I nod slowly. "Yes. You told me that there wasn't a reason. Not a good one anyway. That you just didn't know how to cope. I remember you realising how your mum would've felt and apologising so much you nearly lost your voice. Then the following week to help you cope you got Midnight." He looks over to her smiling. "I remember dragging you to the pet store with me, then freaking out when I got home because I hadn't told my mum. But she accepted her as part of the family immediatley." I walk up to the window, standing next to him. "She'd be proud of how you're handling this Virgil. Both of them would."
Virgil's P.O.V~
I turn towards Patton slowly. "I know Pat. I just... can we visit him? I haven't been to see him in a while." He nods quickly. "Of course we can Virgil. Do you want my mum to take us?" I shake my head slowly picking up Midnight. "No, I want to walk there. As long as that's okay with you." He nods slowly before gesturing to me head. "Oh, right yeah. The ears." He gestures behind me as well. "Is the tail gone?" I shake my head slowly. "No..." He smiles at me before holding up my long coat. "It'll be more comfortable than stuffing them into your hoodie. Not that you can't wear your hoodie but you know what I mean." I take it from him slowly. "Yeah. Thanks pat." Pulling on the coat, I place Midnight in to a pocket before walking outside. "Do you want to tell her where we've gone?" He shakes his head slowly. "No, she'll probably come with us. I think it'd be best if we went alone today. I'll text her when we get there though." I nod again before pulling up my hood. "Let's go."
It wasn't a long walk to the graveyard, we live only a few minutes away, but it was quiet. As we walk inside Patton tries to slow down to give me some space. But I grab his wrist before he stops walking. "It's alright Pat. You can come with."
