-2 months later-

"I knew I was forgetting something," I said as I ran back into my room to get my sneakers "Ok come on Diamond...we're running late," I said as I reached out for her hand.

I got a text from Alexander telling me to walk a block over.

A black SUV was parked by another apartment complex.

By this time the paparazzi stopped coming by. My fifteen minutes were up and they moved on to more controversy. I was so grateful.

It wasn't until we were safe in the car that I hugged him. It's been 2 months since I've seen him in the flesh

"Hi," he said

"Hi," I said as I looked in his deep brown eyes. I never wanted this feeling to leave.

"Miss Z, is this your boyfriend?" Diamond asked

"Yes," I said "um Alexander this is Diamond, one of my kids that I help at the center"

"Nice to meet you, Diamond. You have a very pretty name" he said as she shook his hand

"Thank you," she said as she touched her hair shyly

"That is very nice...Is your hair always this stylish?" he asked and I giggled

"Yes my mommy puts beads in it," she said

"Really? Do you think I can wear some?"

"No," she said as she giggled

"Why not?" He asked having a 'hurt' Look

"You're a boy," she said as she giggled again which made me giggle

"Fair enough," he said then looked at me "mind if I tag along?"

"I don't," Diamond chimed in

"What she said," I said as I smiled

As we drove along, Diamond got very comfortable with Alexander, she hopped from one conversation to the next

"Are you married?" she asked

"No..." Alexander said as he glanced at me but I smirked and looked away

"Do you have any ponies?"

"Well, my sisters have two their names are Zen and Alpha"

"Oh cool," Diamond said in complete amazement

The car stopped and I looked to see the recreational center in ruins with firetrucks, ambulances and police cars surrounding the area.

I leaped out of the car and went to the site "What happened?" I asked Ms. Jones, who looked disoriented

"There was a fire last night. It was faulty wiring" she said "No one got hurt, thank God, but its all gone"

I looked at the center it was destroyed. All the hard work was gone. I mean it needed to be fixed but now we had to start from the ground up

"So what now?" I asked somberly

"We need to start asking for donations and start holding fundraisers but this is worth thousands of dollars it'll take months maybe years to even start replacing the things we lost"

"Miss Z, what happened?" Diamond asked as she gently tugged on my arm

"It's gone, the center is gone, Diamond," I said as I looked down at her sweet innocent face.

"What? no no no" she said as she cried. I really felt like crying too. The recreational center meant a lot to me and the kids in this neighborhood. It was the only one in the neighborhood and with it being in an area where its mostly populated with black people with low incomes it's a huge loss. Most importantly I felt like I had let my brother down.
