'Hahhh...even with the pain being 5x lower than usual, having burning coffee poured over fresh wounds really hurt.' ChangMing winced as the doctor dabbed alcohol all over his wounds to prevent it from infesting.

'Hey Xiao Bai, are you sure that WuLing is good at acting? How come she seems so...lacking?' ChangMing repeatedly poked at BaiXu.

[BaiXu never said she was good at acting! It's just the Mary sue halo protecting her!] BaiXu waved his hands.

'Tsk. The legendary Mary Sue halo? Sounds more interesting than her trashy acting at least.' ChangMing smirked inwardly.

[Host, you mustn't be so careless! The Mary Sue halo is omnipotent, it's her biggest life insurance!] BaiXu reprimanded ChangMing, scared that ChangMing would make a mistake because of underestimating the halo.

'But I've won this battle, haven't I?' ChangMing smiled victoriously.

[Host, there is a saying that you humans spread around. "I might have lost the battle, but I will win the war."]

'When did a brat like you learn such violent words?' ChangMing had an urge to smack BaiXu's bottom.

[BaiXu is not a brat!] BaiXu argued.

ChangMing: 'Yes you are.'

BaiXu: [Are not!]

ChangMing: 'Are too.'

....

While BaiXu and ChangMing was busy arguing with one another, the doctor who treated ChangMing's wounds was informing GuXiang of his injuries.

"Mr. Feng has a second-degree burn from the coffee. His hands will be weak for a few weeks because it was burned by extremely hot coffee while its wounds has not fully healed yet. The coffee leaked into his skin, causing the flesh inside to be slightly burned too. I advise to allow him a temporary leave for school because he cannot afford to strenuously take notes with his hands in this condition." The doctor reported.

By the time the doctor finished, GuXiang's face was already pitch black.

"What fresh wounds." GuXiang said coldly as killing intent starting to ooze out of him. He had seen ChangMing's bandaged hands earlier, but because it was covered up by the bandages, he couldn't see the wounds behind it. He had assumed that it was bruised and that ChangMing was only making a big deal out of it.

[A/N: GuXiang you idiot! How could you not connect his bandaged hands with your lunch!]

The doctor used a finger to push his glasses up and said, "His fingers had multiple small cuts on it, most likely from cooking. I wonder what that boy was cooking to injure himself to that extent?"

GuXiang didn't say anything. He stood still, without moving an inch, resembling a giant block of ice. He maintained his cool demeanor on the surface, but his heart felt like it was being pricked by millions of tiny needles.

"Boss..." the secretary muttered. Even his heart started to warm for the cute boy from his heartwarming actions.

Seemingly awakened by the secretary's muttering, GuXiang rushed into the room. He scanned the room until his dark eyes landed on ChangMing's hands.

Because the bandaged were removed now, he could see the wounds clearly. Small gnashes of cuts ran across his fingers, and the skin around it was slightly peeling off from the coffee earlier. The boy's face was scrunched up in pain as he stared sadly at his trembling hands.

"Uncle?" ChangMing looked at GuXiang and looked back down at his hands. "My hands..they feel so weak...I..." ChangMing's tears spilled forth.

GuXiang's heart clenched at the sight of ChangMing's tears.
