"This is priceless!" I snickered along with the other marauders as we watched Sirius walk down the corridor with bright pink hair. Michelle was nowhere to be seen, thanks to me. I had snuck into her dorm and gave her a little jinx that covered her head to toe in unsightly boils. I felt proud.

"Where's Michelle? Where's my girl?" Sirius asked people frantically, ignoring the snickering. I frowned. This wasn't like him. I rolled my eyes and walked away from the crowd. I headed towards the library so that I could write my essay for potions.

I grabbed some books and began reading the common effects of Amortentia. Something about them caught my attention. Amortentia causes extreme infatuation. I couldn't help but think of Sirius who spoke nothing of Michelle and then suddenly was infatuated with her.

I have to talk to the guys.

"Wait, so Michelle is giving him a love potion?" James asked, his arms crossed. I nodded, wearing a frown.

"We'll have to find out how she's giving it to him. The only way she'll keep him infatuated for such a long period of time is by continuously giving him doses." Remus provided thoughtfully.

"We'll have to watch them. Take shifts." I muttered before pursing my lips together. I glanced to Wormtail who seemed uneasy.

"Alright. Let's save our best mate." James said proudly with a smirk.

I sat under my invisibility cloak in Michelle's dorm. My breathing was slow and quiet. She sat on her bed and began braiding her hair. Apparently, the nurse was able to get rid of the boils I gave her.

Finally, she reached under her bed and pulled out some heart shaped chocolates. Realization flooded me. Of course!

She pulled out a blank piece of parchment and quill and began writing. She giggled softly as she wrote. Must be a love letter.

She folded the parchment and stood from her bed and bent down to her trunk. I cautiously walked towards her bed, careful not to make a sound. I inched my hand closer to the chocolates. In an instant her head popped up.

She was looking dead at me.

She smiled thoughtfully before nodding and grabbing a skirt. A silent sigh of relief escaped my lips and I quickly grabbed the chocolates. I slowly backed out of room, making sure she didn't see me. The second I was out the door, I bolted down to the gryffindor common room.

I ripped off the cloak and plopped onto the sofa. I let out an exaggerated huff. I knew the boys would be coming down in about five minutes to see if I'd done it. I heard footsteps descending from the girls dormitories and quickly hid the chocolates behind one of the couch pillows.

Michelle came into the common room wearing a look of confusion. Her eyes were scanning every inch of the room before landing on me. A fake smile appeared on her face.

"Hello! Jennifer, right?" She asked as she approached the sofa, her hands clasped.

I clenched my jaw but kept my composure, faking a smile. "Genevieve." I answered flatly.

"Okay, anyways, have you seen a little box of chocolates? I think some idiot took them." She said as she looked around the room once more, crossing her arms.

I kept myself from grinning. "No, sorry." I said shaking my head and faking sympathy. She huffed and began to ascend the stairs to the girls dorm. I smirked victoriously.

"So, according to the books, Sirius should stop feeling the affects after 24 hours. So by tomorrow, he'll be his normal self." I stated wearing a large grin. Remus and James high- fived while Peter smiled.

I'll have him back.

"What the bloody hell was wrong with me?" Sirius asked as he rubbed the back of his head.

James smirked. "A mad girl in love with you mate. She gave you a love potion."

We were all smiling. He was himself again. We laughed for about five minutes over the obsessive tendencies of a girl. Once our laughing ceased, Sirius's eyes landed on me. A silent exchange passed between us. He wanted to talk.

"Alright, well, I'm going for a little morning walk. I'll catch up with you lot in a bit." I said to the group, looking at Sirius in particular.

I headed towards the Black Lake and sat on the ground admiring the stunning view. I sucked in a sharp breath. The cool, January breeze caused the hairs on my arms to stand.

"Kitten."

I turned my head to see Sirius standing, wearing a sad look. I smiled softly and patted the spot next to me. He plopped down next to me, his arms resting on his knees.

"I'm sorry, Gen. I had-"

"Sirius." I interrupted, a reassuring smile on my face. "It wasn't your fault. Although, what I saw is burned into my mind forever... it's okay."

His head was down but I knew he was smiling. He finally looked up at me, his mouth slightly agape.

"Gen, can- can I take you out? Properly?" He asked with hope in his eyes. Before a "yes, of course!" could escape my lips, a thought popped in my head. Amos. My face fell.

"I- I can't." I muttered. "Amos asked me to go to Hogsmeade with him today. I'm sorry."

His face fell. "Diggory? The older Hufflepuff?" I nodded, my heart heavy. I wanted nothing more than to kiss him.

"I... I'll see you, Genevieve." He stood quickly and began walking towards the school.

"Sirius!" I called desperately. I watched him walk away, not another word spoken.

Damn it.
