The second half of the day was just like the first half. Almost three and a half hours of charts and stocks the second time. At least there were less investments the second time.
But still, it felt like a waste of time because we didn't change anything, all of the companies we were investing in are at a constant rate right now. Some fell a little bit, some rose a little bit, but nothing major enough to flip the script.
Mr. Rink said it had to be a 3%-4% increase or decrease over the week in order for something to change; ergo, nothing changed.
I looked at some of the other major companies and they didn't have a spike or fall great enough either.
Waste of time if you ask me.
Libby eventually brought me lunch, and I hadn't realized how hungry I was until she brought it in. I basically inhaled it down.
Now it is 4:08 pm and I still have to look at the upcoming events on the calendar and see what I can get started on.
I sighed heavily and ran a hand down my face.
"What's wrong sugar, tired?" I heard that same voice.
"Carter stop sneaking in here. What do you want?" I growled, obviously exhausted.
He just chuckled "What are you doing now?" He asked as he made his way to my desk and tilted his head so the words would be less upside down.
"Oh, the calendar. The ball is coming up and that's the only event you will have to host. I will host the two Information Stations." He stated and leaned on my desk.
I sighed an nodded, not wanting to argue for extra work.
"Alright, well I'm going to look at the ball description and see if I can reserve a place for that day." I told him, not that he cared.
He hummed in response, but then I guess something clicked because he quickly looked over at me "You don't have to do that now, the ball is not for a while." He stated glancing at the calendar now.
I shook my head "No, I like starting early and getting a head start so I don't have so much to worry about later."
Carter shook his head with a smirk "Whatever babe. When you're done come to my office, we need to compare and combine results to the charts then give them to my dad."
I groaned and was about to argue but he started walking out, laughing all the way.
~~
"Finally!" I exclaimed happily as I hung up the phone. "The ball location is set for the ball room at Hyatt Regency for 8:30 in about a month." I stated proudly to nobody but myself.
I wrote down the date and time in the calendar, then snapped the binder shut. "All that's left is food, drinks, head count, raffle gift baskets, Valet, and a DJ."
I happily cleaned up my desk and powered off my computer. I then picked up the binders needed and headed over to Carter's office.
"Good thing I get paid over time, it's already-" I glanced at me phone, then sighed "-5:52 pm."
Knock knock knock!
This time I knocked.
"Come in." I head through the door.
Shoving the door open I strolled in "Ready to compare notes? We have to get this to your father before tomorrow."
Carter nodded then yawned "Sure... Let me just grab my binder."
I nodded and he dug through a pile of papers and notebooks until he found it.
"Alrighty babe, let's get this over with." I nodded and sat across from him at his desk.
~~
"No, he said in his email that he was going to let us know after he navigates through his investments. That's basically a no, he doesn't want to invest more right now. He just didn't bluntly say no." I argued.
Carter had Nathan as a needed meeting, and I had him as no meeting needed. We have been sitting here for 20 minutes discussing this.
"Fine! Whatever sugar! Let's just say no and call it a day." He groaned and slammed our now combined binder shut.
"Finally!" I sighed and picked up the thick, heavy binder. Carter typed away at his computer, probably cancelling the meeting request he sent his assistant.
He abruptly stood up a moment later "Done. Here let me take that." He said holding out his arms for the binder.
I shook my head "It's- okay-!" I huffed out "I- got- it-!"
Seriously I wasn't being dramatic, the binder was this heavy.
He shook his head with a chuckle "Seriously babe let me take it, I don't want you to hurt yourself." He looked genuine and I saw a flicker of worry in his eyes for the briefest moment.
I blushed the slightest bit and gave him the binder.
A part of me wondered for a second if the reason behind his kindness was he might actually like me, as a friend of course, and not just want to get into my pants.
...
Nope.
He probably saw my as a walking hole he hasn't stuck it in yet.
I audibly sighed and glanced over at him, where he was holding the binder and lifted it with ease.
"Show off." I mumbled under my breath but he still heard it and laughed.

Hey guys!
I'm sorry I'm sorry!! I know this was a filler chapter, but I had to end the day and I didn't just want to be like "and the rest of the day went something similar." Because that would suck. Anyway, I will try my VERY BEST to not write another filler chapter. Romance is coming in not the next chapter, not the next chapter, not the next chapter, not the next chapter (although there are some little bits), but the next chapter is the one! Count down the chapter if you must but it's coming I swear!
Its hard to have a chapter question for a filler... I guess the only question I have is how anxious is this book making you?
Lol!
How bad do you want to just skip to the romance part?
Sorry again for the bad chapter guys.
As always please vote, share and comment!
Thanks guys!
