Lasiaira:It's been three days since Yesi and I arrived here. I'm starting to get use to it. I actually like it here. The guys have been going to school along with Cecily while Yesi and I are stuck at the house. Elle needs our transfer papers and register us in. It's not a public school either. We're attending an alternative school. Our GPA's are low and we need to get our credits up if we want to graduate on time. I'm a freshman and Yesi's a Junior. The school year will be over in a few months then it's summer. We only have three months left. What's the point in going?
It's two in the afternoon. The boys got home an hour ago. They attend alternative school too. Cecily and Maver are the only ones at Public school. They don't get out until three. That's too long.
I pull my pink and white stripped Polo shirt over my head. I remember stealing it from Ralph Loren. Ha-ha. Yesenia and I shoplifted all the time with our friends. We rarely got caught. After doing it for so long we were pros.
I shimmied into my blue jean skirt. Elle signed us up for peer counseling. We go in fours. She switches us up every week. Today and tomorrow Yesi and I go. Alejandro and Glenn are coming too. Glenn is cute but he's the same age as me. I like older guys. Like... Marco for example. He's so fine! And his green eyes are so beautiful especially when he looks at me and smiles with those straight white teeth. Yes. His tattoos are sexy and I just want to know how his lips feel. Maybe I'll find out today. We do have chores together. Hehe.
Basically all of the guys in the house are hot. Hands down Alejandro looks the best. I love looking at him. His eyes are just amazing. Maver is sexy. Yesi knows I love me some chocolate. Juan is sexy too but he plays too much he's too childish for me.
I just think I'm going to have lots of getting to know these guys. I haven't talked to Cecily yet. She seems okay. I grab my cocoa butter lotion and rub my honey brown skin. Yesi walks in from just taking a shower. "I can't believe she's making us go to this shit. It's not going to help anyone." she complains.
I roll my eyes and continue rubbing in my lotion. It's like all she does is complain. She needs to shut up and relax. She should be at least thankful we have a roof over our cabeza.
"I just want to smoke weed and get high. Now I can't even do that." she continues. She opens the closet door and searches for something to wear while clutching hold to her towel.
"This might be for the better. You never know Yesi." I reassure her.
"Stop being such a pendejo. Don't you want to leave? I hate to say it but I rather be back home."
"Pendejo?" I scoff. "You hold that name the fairest. You've been a pain since we got here, Yesi."
She's always calling me a bitch. That's all her and everyone knows it. She's been this way since Lorenzo broke her heart. Hell, even before that. I love my sister I do but I wish she would disappear sometimes.
"Whatever. You only like it here because of the view." she drops her towel. "You're just going to get hurt in the end, Lasi. Trust me."
Snatching my flips from off the floor I glare at her. "Just because Lorenzo dumped you doesn't mean every guy is like that." I argued. After the words left my mouth I regretted it. She gave me a look I haven't seen in a long time. Like she wanted to kill me.
"I'm sorry," I blurted out. Looking at my feet I scratched the back of my head. "It's just you base every guy off what he did to you. There are some good guys left."
Her silence made me feel even worse. We swore never to bring him up and here I am throwing him in her face. He hurt her more than any punch to the face. He broke her. There's only a little of how Yesi use to be left.
"You're right." she says. I look up from the ground and look at her expressionless face. "No need to be sorry. You're only telling the truth."
"Are you being sarcastic?" I wondered. There's no telling when she's truly being honest or not.
She grabbed one of her tank tops. Pulling the red one over her head. "I'm being serious," she stretched her legs in her black leggings.
I kept my mouth shut. At least she's not mad at me. I think. She slid her feet into her white sandals. Removing her rubber band she let her hair fall loosely down her back.
"Wen, I mean Glenn, is waiting in the Jeep with Alejandro." she said before walking out of the room. Slamming the door shut. Yup she's mad at me.
Running my hands through my hair I groaned in frustration before leaving out of the room and meeting them outside.
Glenn sat upfront with Alejandro. He trimmed his hair so at least he can see better now. His dark hair still rested on his shoulders. Maybe Glenn might let me sit upfront?
I tapped on his window. He rolled it down. His small, brown eyes looking at me and his dark hair swept in front of his left eye. He's so cute. "What's up?"
"Can I sit upfront? Please? It's been so long since I've rode shotgun." I batted my eyelashes and smiled.
Glenn laughed. "Uh huh." he said as if he didn't believe me. I'm actually being serious.
"No. It's not like that. I really want to ride shotgun." I backed up a little as the door swung open and he got out.
"You're lucky I'm nice." he smiled back at me.
Alejandro didn't pay us any attention. He's too busy texting on his phone. Speaking of phones. I don't have one. Neither does Yesi. I know I left mine at the party the night before we got arrested.
"Thanks Glenn." I hopped inside. The front door opened and Yesi walked down the porch. A soda in her hand. Once she got in Alejandro backed out and started driving.
I played with the radio until I heard Problems by Arianna Grande. I love The Way by her and Mac Miller. She can sing.
"So. What exactly do we do at this place?" I ask.
Alejandro concentrates on the road making sure he turns into the right lane. He bites his bottom lip softly as if thinking about something. He looks sexy when frustrated.
Glenn speaks up. "It's not actually peer counseling. Elle only says that to make it sound better."
"What is it then?"
"A support group," Alejandro turns down the radio. He reaches into his pocket pulling out a zip. We're at a red light. He takes out a joint. Lighting it he inhales smoke.
"You want a hit?" he asks Yesi. Blowing out smoke through the corner of his mouth.
Yesenia leans over in-between the seats her elbow jamming into my side. "Hey." I hiss.
"Hell yeah." she takes it from him and leans back in her seat. The car fills up from the stench of weed.
I cross my arms. "A support group huh?"
Alejandro and Yesenia are too busy passing back the joint to listen to me anymore. When the light turned green he passed it back to Yesi.
"Yeah. It's some hippie group or some shit like that. You have to introduce yourself and tell everyone your problems." Alejandro says. That's the most I've heard him talk.
"Oh mah gawd! This is like the best day ever!" Yesi impersonated a preppy white girl.
Alejandro and Glenn softly chuckled. I rolled my eyes.
