They rushed towards him. "You touch me and you die.  Now bye." Kaz glared at them. Then he looked at Jespers dad. "If you have something to tell me, tell me and leave or wait until tomorrow."   He said in his gravely business voice. "Kaz, why are you on the floor?" Jesper asked. "I felt like taking a nap here. Is there a problem with that?" Kaz said oh so happily, implying that if they said anything else terrible things would happen.

"Ya right. I remember breaking my leg one summer. I also remember quite well what was comfortable or not. Besides, your criplemmmmppp." Jesper was kind enough to stop his father's death before it happened.

"Not a good idea da.  Don't talk about the c word with him." Jesper whispered to his dad as he slowly removed his hand from the man's mouth.

"I'm what? If your talking about my leg, then your concern is not needed. It's not that different from yours, in fact I enjoy it this way." He smirked.

"I still don't believe you. I've heard many things, even out in the country about you Kaz Brekker. Dirty Hands is quite famous among traders, what exactly do you do to earn such a terrible reputation?" He said to Kaz, then he turned to the rest of them and said, "Why don't we join Kaz on the floor. We may even find it comfortable." Nina looked like she wanted to complain, but was stopped by my da's stern glare. That's when I remembered something.

"Da, you took psychology right?" I asked, to everyones shock. Kaz stayed as stoic faced as always, but his thoughts revealed otherwise.

You've got to be kidding me!! How did I not know this?! I should've looked into his family more!! What else did I miss!! Uggggggg!!! Calm down! For goodness sakes, your going to have another panic attack at this rate!! Calm down, breathe. Breathe..... Ok. Good. Hmph!! I didn't have a panic attack. I just..... choked..... on their idiocy. Sure, just keep telling yourself that. For your information, I'll keep doing that. Good. Yep.

"In fact, they made me take an advanced college course. It was easy, wanted me to go to some big shot college, but I declined. Farmings in my blood, I'm a farmer, first and foremost after I'm a dad. Anyway, I'm goin' to turn the heat up, it's freezing in here. Aren't you cold?"

"The Damon's attitude is cold, I'm sure he's fine though." *Smack!!!*

Da was furious, and I mean close to rivaling Kaz furious. He smacked Matthias across the face, hard. "Don't you ever call someone that again!! I know he's not a saint, but no one is!! I don't want to hear you calling him that again, or you will face serious consequences. Got it?" Matthias numbly nodded. Everyone was still shocked. Even Kaz's eyes were slightly wider. I'll have to thank da for that later. He snapped out of it first and I swear I saw a smile, but it was gone as soon it was there. Leaving me to wonder if it was there at all.

"Your a kind man, one that won't survive in this city if your here for to long. However, I'm quite fond of that nickname. It would be a crime for the city to never hear it again."

"Nope, you don't really believe that do you? Anyway, Matthias go get him some cold water." He said glaring at Matthias who left in a hurry.

"Why cold water?" Inej asked sweetly. He smiled sweetly in return and said, " Well, whenever your overheating or unnaturally hot it means that you need more water. So there for, he needs more water."

Told you so. Sure you did. Now look what you did. You didn't like the nickname so he thinks I don't like it. I loved that nickname! Ya ya, sorry for not telling you I secretly loved it as much as you did. Very funny, how much longer? About a minute and a half. I hope you know I am thrilled to be here to watch this amazing spectacle. It's not going to go on much longer. This is the longest fifteen minutes of my life.

"So, I'm going to turn the heat up. Where's the thermostat?" He asked Kaz, looking around. "Ah, found it." As he started walking towards it Matthias burst in with a cup of water in hand. "Here.... here's the ....cold water." He said breathlessly as he gave da the water.

"Oh, thank you." He walked over to grab it and then leaned over Kaz and demanded Kaz drink it.

"Not thirsty. I've always been this way. Yet again, your concern isn't needed."  Kaz said nonchalantly.

"Drink it." Da demanded, only to stop and sniff around. "I smell blood."

Right. I still have a bullet in my shoulder. I completely forgot it was there. *sigh* You have the highest pain tolerance known to man. What are you going to do now? I'll figure something out. You better. I will, don't worry about it. Fine. Good.

"Oh my gosh!! I completely forgot why we were here in the first place! Kaz, did you dress your shoulder yet?" Inej asked, concerned.

"What happened?" Da inquired.

"The usual. He got shot in the shoulder yesterday and slept on it. Last we heard he still hasn't taken it out." Jesper helpfully said.

"Just how high is your pain tolerance?" Da asked incredibly.

"Don't feel pain." Kaz trued to shrugged.

"I'll take that as high pain tolerance. I'll help you get it out. I've been shot many times by a wife and son I will not name, so I've gotten good at taken care of that kinda stuff. First off, let me get you some ibprofin.  Now where..... aha!! I'll be back, give me a second....." *Sniff Sniff* "I smell medicine."

*Hahaha!!! He has a farmers nose all right. Good luck getting out of this one. I'm not helping. However, I will tell you when you can move. Of course you will, I wouldn't expect anything more. Good. Have fun. This isn't fun.

"Medicine? What kind?" Jesper asked confused.

"The same kind your cousin Ann has. I never thought I'd smell it anywhere else since it's so rare."

"Really? I wonder why you smell it in here."

"What are you talking about?" Nina rudely asked as she put her hands on her hips impatiently.

"Oh, sorry. Well to cut it short it's a um disease that you develope and um..... I'm just gonna let Da explain it." Jesper said, how was he supposed to explain it when he didn't know anything either.

"First off, it's not a disease but a condition. It develops after a very tramadic event in someone's childhood. Depending on what that event was,  they get... for lack of a better word scared or freak out. In Anns case it's when ever someone surprises her. When ever this happens she gets a panic attack. I don't remember the name of it, but I do know that the condition is rare. Don't ask me how because I don't really know. I do know however, that if severe enough and without medicine to help cope with it and slow your heart, the person can die. The after effects are pretty severe too. The most common is being out of it for 10 minutes or not being able to walk for 5. The worst case scenario is being paralyzed until you recover which is 15 minutes. However there have been people who could move during this time, but it is extremely painful. The smell of the medicine is quite distinct and strong. I wouldn't recommend smelling it up close and personal though, that stuff will knock you off your feet." He finished by laughing at himself and then yawning.

"All this talk of serious stuff has made me tired. Let me get that ibeprofin for you Kaz." With that he headed off to the counter where he spotted an open bottle of what looked like ibeprofin. 10 steps, 7 steps, 5 steps....

3.. 2..1.. Move!!! I better make it in time.
