~Disclaimer: I own nothing of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street~

Todd stood frozen and looked at Mrs. Lovett. It was true. Through all the madness he dragged himself and even her into, she never gave up on him. You would think once a man is crazy enough to truly belong in an asylum, everyone in the world would find no use in them.

And what if it was true that Eleanor Lovett actually poisoned Lucy. Perhaps the thought of Lucy being some helpless figure wouldn't match up with the barber. After all, she thought all she did was for the best. Todd didn't say anything; Mrs. Lovett didn't say anything, all they did was stare at each other.

Todd no longer had a mind with the capability to think. The lady who never intentionally hurt him actually spoke something that wasn't a lie. Everyday in the asylum, she came to visit. She came every. single. day.

"Mr. Todd?" She whispered; watching him stare off in space. "Mr. Todd?"

Todd twitched and looked back at the baker. "Any chance you still keep around a bottle of gin?" He softly mumbled with a forced smile.

She smiled back and realized he wouldn't kill her. Even though her lies had scarred him, she had always been to catch him when he fell. "Course, love."

She then grabbed the almost full bottle of gin and shot glass and scurried off to the kitchen with the barber following. He closed the straight razor and tossed it in his pocket.

"Here ya go, love," she whispered as she set a shot glass on the table. Todd took his seat and stared at the glass.

"I'm sorry... for what happened in there," he mumbled; his words barley understandable.

"It's alright... after all you just came back from a godforsaken asylum. Can I ask you a question?" She asked while she took a seat across from him.

"What?"

"How'd you escape? How'd you find Lucy?"

Todd then took the glass and took a swig of the gin. "Why do you care to know? Look, I'm not stupid, maybe insane, but not stupid. I know you hate Lucy."

"Hate? Now, Mr. T... I will admit she ain't my favorite person. But I promise you it wasn't me who forced the poison on her. Now, how'd you escape? Toby took a visit there last night... said he saw dead people."

Todd then choked on the gin and coughed painfully. "Dead people huh?" Todd choked out. "Trust me the bastards had it coming. I had to kill a few guards and such to escape... and then at some point from the dreadful months... I met Lucy. Almost killed her. But I soon recognized her." He said it all in a mumble.

"I'm tellin' ya, Mr. T, she's not the Lucy she once was."

"She's not is she? She refers to me as Ben every time and treats me like she did fifteen years ago." Todd stated; taking another sip of the gin. He then looked at the baker who frowned a little. Her bun was slowly coming down; leaving more strains of hair by her face. "Eleanor... you're not jealous of her... are you?"

"Heavens no!" She lied. She was very jealous of Lucy. Lucy couldn't love Todd like she did. Mrs. Lovett understood Sweeney Todd, Lucy understood Benjamin Barker- the man who had died years ago. Lucy couldn't care for the barber as much as the baker. At least, that's what Mrs. Lovett thought. "I'm happy you found Lucy... cause it makes you happy."

Todd didn't know what to say. Did Mrs. Lovett actually have a kind enough heart to just forget and forgive. "...Oh, well," Todd set the glass down and looked up. "Lucy... she might want me up there... um... I'll come down for dinner... well if your preparing any and if I'm invited."
