Chapter 2 Friends

A week later Kayleigh POV
The past week had been very strange I always felt like someone was watching me, Jacob and I grew a bit closer well by closer he was a familiar face and everyday he would smile at me in the hallway which made me shiver. Today I woke up to the same routine, getting raped and beaten only today was must worse but I won't get into detail. I pulled on a white tank top and I red plaid shirt which I tied to my waist, then I put on my blue ripped jeans, I let my hair down covering my new bruises. I went to school but got there early it was 7:30 and school started in an hour I went to my locker and tossed my backpack in my locker, I shut my locker slowly and a shiver went down my spine as the feeling of being watched returned. "Hey Kayleigh" it was Jacob my nerves calmed. "Hi" I said shyly.

"Hey I was wondering if you wanted to eat lunch with my friends and I?" No it's okay I'm not really a people person" "ya I got that you always seem nervous around me" Jacob said playfully this made my blush and turned away. "but you can eat with me alone if you want, I mean I'm new here so I don't know where the best places to eat lunch are." Jacob said
I bit my lip "well you can just eat the cafeteria food?" He smiled then walked closer to me "come on show me around at lunch we have an hour" I smiled nervously and said "sure" Jacob then said "awesome can't wait, why are you here so early by the way?" I shrugged " I could ask you the same question" Jacob then said " since no one else is here wanna walk around for a bit?" "Ya sure" I looked into his brown eyes, for the first time I felt safe.

We walked around the school then we went outside, I showed him my secret hiding spot behind the school. There were bushes we pushed past them till we came to an open area where flowers were blooming. we sat down together. "I haven't shown anyone this place I like to come here and draw, and think." I Said shyly " it's nice here, so how long have you lived here" Jacob asked "for as long as I can remember I lived with my aunt Mable and her three sons, but I'm not actually related to them, Mable told me my parents died in a car crash." I looked down sadly, he probably didn't want to be my friend now he probably thought I was telling lies or he thought I was a sad girl who went down the wrong path and became a whore a slut. I felt his warm hand brush my hair out of my face, I looked up my eyes met his, it was perfect. He then shifted he eyes to my neck, "where did you get those bruises?!" He said, he almost sounded terrified that I had been hurt, "oh ummm  I fell" I said with a stutter. "You fell on you neck?" He said confused, "I fell forwards and hit a pole I guess" "you don't have to lie to me Kayleigh" he sounded worried then said "did someone hurt you!" He growled

"No what makes you think I'm lying, can't you just move on, I told you what happened" he then raised his hand I closed my eyes and flinched, I was waiting for him to slap me I waited and waited then nothing happened. I opened my eyes he was holding out a flower I smiled and he put it in my hair. "Why did you flinch?" He asked
"I don't know" I looked away. He pulled me up and smiled, I blushed and said. " the bell is going to ring soon we better get going"

Jacob POV
I had been watching Kayleigh for a week, something was off, how could she not know what mate meant, I smelt the wolf on her I was puzzled. I asked James my twin brother who also was her mate but refused to go to school because he was scared he would loose control and claim her as ours and take her home.

How was this possible "well maybe she's just joking!" James snarled "she wouldn't joking around meeting her mate" I said
"Well sometimes parents die giving birth and they get sent away to live with someone else, maybe her family didn't tell her she's a wolf" " James are you sure they wouldn't  tell her, it's against the law to send a wolf away to another pack and it's against the law to send her to sent her to humans!" James then said " maybe she was kidnapped after her parents died or maybe her parents are still alive!" " I don't know I'm going ask my dad thanks for your help James." I walked up to my dads room James close behind and asked him the questions I asked James, my father asked me what her name was and how old she was. He began flipping threw a book of names and files the he paused " Kayleigh's from the blue moon Wolf pack one of our allies, our friends, her parents were named lily and peter. They died, but there death I'm afraid wasn't an accident, they were murdered by the blood shed pack Heard, Kayleigh went missing and her heard was destroyed everyone was killed. My father looked up "keep her safe and maybe she is in a safe place maybe she got away but we can't be sure this is the same Kayleigh till we know her last name"  "her full name is Kayleigh moondance" I Replied " then son Kayleigh Moondance's parents were murdered when she was born and she was kidnapped, but she might be doing okay maybe the heard took her and left her, maybe a family took her on as one of her own." I then say I'm going to school talk to you later"

At school
I smelled her walk in the door, she smelled of flowers, I loved her sent ever since I met her. I watched her go to her locker she seemed scared everything she felt I felt, then I felt her get very nervous, I walked over and said "hi" I felt her nerves fade "hi" she said time past and I asked her if she could show me around at lunch, she said no at first but I proceeded to ask till she agreed. Since we had an hour to spare I asked her is she wanted to walk around. She smiled shyly and agreed. I loved the way she smiled, it was wonderful I also didn't mind how shy she was. We walked outside then showed me her secret spot, her secret spot was behind the school, we pushed past some bushes till we came to an open area full of flowers. I chuckled " so how long have you lived here I asked?" "As long as I can remember she said" I asked her a few questions about her family but it quickly turned sad, which I was expecting.

The most sad part was that she thought her parents died in a car crash, but I really knew what happened to them. But I then got disturbed when she talked about her aunt Mable and her sons I felt her get nervous just by the thought  of them. I brushed her hair away from her face trying to comfort her. Then I saw the bruises my stomach began to twitch " where did you get those bruises I asked" " ohh ummm I fell" I could tell she lied  I told her she didn't have to lie to me, but she didn't trust me yet I guess. We walked back to the school just in time for the bell to ring.
