When I arrived at the hell pit commoners call school, I realized my hair was a mess and quickly tied it into a messy bun.
I made my way to my locker, trying my best to be discreet so no one will notice me.

Mission successful.

I grabbed my books for my first two classes, Language Arts and History.
*Ringgggggggg*
There's the bell. I quickly walk to class on the second floor of the school. Ahh, here it is my second favorite class, Language Arts. History is my first favorite. I walked to my usual seat in the back of the room, right next to the window, giving me a perfect view of the always alive city with taxis rushing by and weird people walking around all by their lonesome selves. I might not live in the nicest outskirt city of NYC but its busy enough to distract me from my own miserable life. Class seemed like it only lasted about 15 minutes when in reality it was 50, but like they say, "Time flies when you are having fun"

As the bell rang signaling the end of passing period I seated myself in the front of the class. This is the only class where I actually enjoy participating, mostly because the topics interest me. Maybe because focusing on other people's problem(even if they are dead) makes me forget about my own for a while.

"Hey Rachel can I borrow a pencil?" I hear Justin ask beside me. "Uhh, is that a no?" I turn to see who he is talking to after realizing there is no Rachel in this class. I look up to see his drop dead gorgeous green and hazel eyes looking at me anxiously.I feel myself blush.
***
No! Don't blush!!
Its too late. He knows I'm nervous I need to be tough!
***
"First of all Jacob, my name is ZOE and yes here's a pencil but don't waste my lead." I say rudely.
"Oh, sorry you just look like a Rachel, and my name is Justin, not Jacob." He quickly apologizes and I can see the embarssment in his face when I met his eyes again after fishing a pencil out of my book bag.
"I know, just wanted you to see how it feels" I say teasing him with a smile. But then I realize what's happening and whip my head around to face the board.
***
I'm showing emotion! This is bad!
***
All throughout class I kept sneaking glances at him. For some reason I couldn't stop thinking of him. So much that I got in trouble for day dreaming.
"Ms. Cunningham, can you repeat what I just said about ancient Rome?" She questioned me with a smirk on her preppy face.
"Nope, I wasn't paying attention. Sorry not sorry." I gab at her. Her smirk disappeared at my remark. I could hear people snickering at my attitude.
"Are you sassing me Ms.Cunningham?"
"No, just answering your question."
***
What? Did you think because I like this subject I would let down my walls? No way!
***
"That's it, lunch detention!"
"Fine by me!" I laugh. It's not like I had plans.
"That's not fair, she's entitled to an opinion, why punish her for expressing her honest opinion." I hear Justin protest beside me. Is he actually standing up for me? The popular jock standing up for the anti-social sass master?
***
Thats right I just referred to myself as the sass master!
***
"Since you are so concerned, why don't you join her and discuss your very similar views on opinions?"she snaps at him. The whole class is staring at him, including me. The look of shock on his face at her demand soon fades to dread.
"But I have baseball practice! Coach will flip if I miss the practice! Seriously Ms. Nysa?!" He argues.
"Does it look like I give a damn Cortell! Lunch detention, regardless of what Coach Dukes has to say about it."
