the phone ringed for a few seconds
before it connected

his soft voice spoke
i was shocked
it wasnt harsh not at all like his

i stumbled over my words i didnt know how to say anything
'what'
was all i heard
'i need help'
the words fell out my mouth
i quickly looked around the room making sure he hadnt come home
'where are you?'
his voice sounded genuine
like he wanted to help
i gave him my address
he told me hed be there soon
