Nightmares

I was surrounded by darkness. No light, no path, nothing. I walked in the darkness, until I met two people. To my left, a woman with long-blonde hair. She wore of a lavender sweater, dark-purple bottoms. What caught my attention was her necklace—My lucky sign, Libra.

And in my right, a similar-looking woman. She wore of a formal suit. But instead of long locks of blonde hair, her hair is tied to a side bun—She had one side of her hair laid down, and on top of her bun is a little hat. And there it is again, my very fortunate companion, Libra.

Both were holding their hands out, and both of their expressions were blurry—As if I couldn't remember who they were. They tried to reach out to me, and I tried as well—But I couldn't. I was stuck at this...Crimson colored hole, full of black hearted-decorations.

Every memory I had from infancy to present, I felt it fading away. It hurt me too much—I felt a weight on my chest getting heavier and heavier, I fought it away, I tried to get rid of it—But it won't go away. It's plastered on my chest, and it's spreading everywhere on my heart.

Before I woke up, all I heard was a woman shouting—"Ria! Come back—Please!"

And I jolted awake.

"Ria? Are you awake?" A soothing voice had called out to me, and I was clinging onto that person as if my life had depended on it. I slowly pulled myself away and looked up to the person who was holding me through all my nightmare.

It took me a while to find my courage to speak, but I eventually and fortunately did. "W-Who...Wait—Where are the others? Lance—Keith? The Twins?"

She put on a calming smile and pushed me back to bed, her hands rubbed my head and soon, she'd sung me a lullaby. It calmed me so...Who is this person?

I held her hands and pulled it away, "I-I appreciate what you did to help me, but please, my friends...Where?"

She stood up and gestured behind her, and I saw everyone resting. The twins were back together, Keith was on the couch with his feet laying up top on the armrest. Lance hovering around, snoring ever so loudly.

My nerves now tingled down as I tried to stand up, with the woman helping me. I thanked her millions of times, but she said it was nothing at all. I looked at her, and I was so sure that I know her. But where?

My thoughts were interrupted as soon as her sharp voice could be heard, she'd place me on a chair, "Ria, you are aware of the fact that staring is rude?"

I snapped back to reality—"Ah, I'm so sorry, miss...I just thought, you were someone I knew. You really do look familiar, might I know your name?"

She looked at me for awhile before beaming, holding her hand out. "Edwards. Sera Edwards, the Mad Hatter. I'll always be at your service, Ria"

That melancholy name, once again. In instinct, I pulled her into a hug. "You know who I am...So you must really do know me."

Her arms wrapped around me again, I felt myself cling to her once more before slumber has pulled me back. I heard her voice in a saddened tone... And it filled me with such guilt.

"Oh, my sweet...I wish you remembered as well..."
