Chapter 8

Two weeks went down the drain without Amayra and Azarioth talking. Amayra just continued with life like nothing happened. Her marriage to Daniel was still a talk of the town. They were not married yet because her family said that they have to wait till there was no threat against Amayra. The guards who were assigned to Amayra had to be invisible because humans and fairies were not really friends.
Another week went past by and the two didn't talk at all. Loam Hedge was decorated with Christmas trees and other things. It was snowing for the past two weeks already. Houses were decorated with Christmas lights. Everybody sat around fire talking about all the presents they want on Christmas day. They were getting tired of the Christmas Eve, it felt like the day didn't want to end. Snow was getting worse instead of slowing down a bit. Amayra sat there watching the wood burn. She was indeed in deep thoughts as she stared at the door waiting for someone to walk in. What did she expect a miracle to happen? Amayra pretended to be fine but deep down inside, everything was eating her alive. She was not ready to love anyone at all but she was even doubting herself. What did she want exactly? Fairy King Azarioth who is her soulmate apparently or Daniel her first crush and kiss? How was she suppose to make a decision when she don't even know what she feels? She wanted to cry out loud. Why did he make her feel so safe around him? He was suppose to be an enemy but he made her feel so beautiful and strong. He made her realize many things like the fact she was blunt. She wanted to have a normal life but she didn't want to forget him at all. She couldn't bare forgetting him and felt it was unfair to Daniel . She didn't love Daniel at all. Love. It was something she never thought she would have one day at all.

When midnight came, Amayra sat down next to the window watching outside. People were singing ' We Wish You A Marry Christmas ' as soon as the bell rang. She looked outside thinking so deep. She watched the sky as soon as she saw a shooting star, she stood up.
"Make a wish and it will come true, "said Mrs Aldenmore.
"I wish, "said Amayra and finished the rest of her wish inside.
"Go to sleep, we have a long day, "said Mrs Aldenmore. Amayra went to bed feeling drained and watched as usually.

Amayra woke up to a lot of noise in the house. She wrapped her gown and walked straight to the dining room where the noise came from. She went past the window on the passage only to see guards outside. She couldn't even figure which kingdom the guards came from. There was still snow making the window foggy. When she walked in the dining room, she found an elderly woman and man talking to her frustrated mother and sisters.
"What is going on? "asked Amayra holding the nightgown while trembling.
"Amayra you have a problem,"said Mrs Aldenmore. The couple along with other women turned around.
"Uriel? What are you doing here? "asked Amayra.
"Your name is Amayra? "asked Uriel shocked.
"Just tell her why you are here, "said Eva annoyed.
"It's about the King, "said Vashti who was wearing a white cloak just like the rest of the women.
"Who are you people? "asked Amayra.
"I'm Xion and this is my wife Vashti, "said Xion. Amayra immediately knew who they are by just looking at them. His parents.
"The parents, "sighed Amayra.
"He's been taken, "said Uriel. The Aldenmores stood there shocked and worried.
"By what? Who? How? He can't just be taken like that, "said Amayra as she sat down.
"Viola took her, "said Vashti.
"And you are all here why? "asked Amayra.
"Since you are his soulmate and future Queen of Civita, you are the only one who can find him, "said Xion.
"Don't you forget I'm human, I don't own magic. I can't find him, "said Amayra groaning .
"You can actually dear. All you need is to try and concentrate on your bond with him, "said Vashti.
"Bond? "asked Amayra confused.
"Since you are his soulmate, you have a bond with him and it is powerful than any bond. You are a Queen after all, "said Uriel.
"Just stop! Stop it! Azarioth is taken and all you want to talk about is a godforsaken bond! Can we just try to find him? Please, "said Amayra sadly.
"We can't do that. We need to be led by the Queen, his soulmate,"said Xion.
"In other words, fairies are bound to listen to their King and Queen, "said Uriel.
"That is bullshit! I don't want to be a Queen! You were the rulers before, tell them what to do and leave me alone! Even the King himself gave up on me the minute he left me three weeks ago, "said Amayra finishing her sentence in pain and despair. She stood up and walked straight to her room. Everybody sighed as they looked at the sad Amayra.
"I'll talk to her, "said Isaiah as he walked in.
"You wait there young man. You don't just barge in my house without telling me, "said Mrs Aldenmore as she stood on his way.
"It's okay, he's his brother, "said Vashti.
"The one who tried to kill my sister? I don't think so, "said Ella standing next to her mother.
"It was an honest mistake, I apologize, "said Isaiah ashamed.
"Good for you but you are not going near my sister, "said Eva watching him carefully. Amayra showed up wearing a black cloak and walked past everyone.
"Where are you going young lady?"asked Mrs Aldenmore.
"For a walk, it's Christmas, "said Amayra as she walked outside. Isaiah followed after her as she walked down the street. "Stop following me. "
"Nice to know you are not scared of me anymore, "said Isaiah.
"I was never scared of you Isaiah, "snorted Amayra. Instantly, Isaiah held her wrist so tight.
"Do not talk to me like that, I'm definitely not King Azarioth, "said Isaiah fuming.
"And yet you call him King Isaiah. Just be a good brother and let my wrist go. I never did anything wrong to you Isaiah. Why do you hate me so much? "asked Amayra as she looked at him. Isaiah felt a stab on his heart as he looked at the brown eyed beauty. He couldn't deny it that when he first met her,he liked her actually.
"You may not remember but we have met before, about two years ago, "said Isaiah.
"Just because I'm human that doesn't mean I don't remember. Isaiah I was also shocked to find you there and I thought you were human not a fairy, "said Amayra accusingly.
"Well I didn't want anyone to know that the girl I liked was in the castle, "said Isaiah.
"You never liked me at all, "said Amayra.
"I did, "said Isaiah.
"Is that why you tried to kiss me once? Is that why you told everybody we were dating? "asked Amayra shocked.
"Yes I did especially after that Emperor's son told me to back off, "said Isaiah.
"Isaiah I have a lot of drama already about guys who like me or in love with me, so please don't make something big about it please, "said Amayra frustrated.
"I'm here to talk about my brother. I never saw him the way he was on the first week you met. He was smiling and happy. I never believed in love in first sight until I saw it on him. He threw me against the wall for just touching you, "said Isaiah.
"I thought he just liked me but he confessed and left me. You don't do that to people even if they have nothing to say, you don't, "said Amayra.
"My brother never thought he would get a human soulmate ,"said Isaiah.
"I never thought a fairy would fall in love with me. I wanted a normal life, "said Amayra sitting down.
"You don't want the responsibility of being a Queen or anything that has to do with fairies. I can make a deal which Az is going to kill me for. Us fairies are bound to our promise,"said Isaiah.
"Just talk, "said Amayra.
"You help us find the King and you can have your life back, "said Isaiah sounding so broken.
"How? "asked Amayra shocked.
"Cross my heart hope to die, I will not try to stop you and my brother will have no choice but go with it, "said Isaiah as he drew a cross on his chest and it glowed.
"Just like that? "asked Amayra shocked.
"Just like that, I just want him home, "said Isaiah.
"I will help you Isaiah ,"said Amayra. Isaiah hugged her more like squeezed her. They turned around and went back home. They walked in house full of silence and everybody sitting down. They all stood up and bowed before her.
"What were you doing with my sister? "asked Ella furiously.
"I'm going with them and I will be back, then we will have our normal life back, "said Amayra.
"Isaiah what on earth did you do? "asked Vashti angrily.
"He made a promise that none of you can defy and you better not try to do that, "said Amayra glaring at them.
"If this doesn't kill Az, what will? "asked Xion worried.
"He walked out on me the minute things got bad. I should be angry the fact he didn't even let me talk to him, he ignored me and I am done trying. We will do whatever it takes to save him and that's the end. He survived three weeks without trying to talk to me, he will survive years too, "said Amayra as she stood her ground. "Now are we going to Civita or what? " The Aldenmores stood there shocked and speechless.
"Be safe Yaya,"that's all Mrs Aldenmore could say to her daughter. They walked with Amayra among them this time.
