So I had my way back home, Phoenix tagged along with me. It was already sunset. He knew that I needed him cause I was so afraid of the dark. Ugh, wth is wrong with me? I can summon dark powers but is afraid of the dark? That's just so absurd. Oh well, nevermind. Everybody has their own weaknesses.
As I was walking along the pathway, I heard a loud thud. I turned around and noticed that it was coming from the woods. Feeling so eagerly to know what it was, Phoenix lit up the way for me. I took a few steps forward and I was so surprised on what I saw.
It was a giant hound laying down near the tree that had gold leaves. I wondered, "Why is it wandering off the woods at this hour? It looks like it's lost or something."
And then I noticed something fishy was going on. I leaned forward to get a closer look. Suddenly there was blood streaming down from the giant hound's lower abdomen.
"Oh no! It was injured all this time.. Maybe it was trying to escape from something and was shot till it fell on this spot right here.", I thought.
I wish I had magical powers to heal so it could get better but I can't. Only Clerics could do that. Hey! Speaking of Clerics, maybe Methias could help this poor thing. So I told Phoenix to go to the other side of the village hoping that Methias would pass by and notice like the other day.
So Phoenix went deeper into the woods while I was sitting next to this poor injured hound just in case something else goes wrong. It was really dark, luckily I could lit up a small fire with my finger on some sticks on the ground so it looked like a mini fire place. Just to light up the place a little.
After waiting for half an hour, finally Phoenix came back and guess what.. Methias was with him too! I was so glad to see him.
"Methias! Oh thank goodness you're here.. I was a little worried that you wouldn't show up.", I said to him.
"Oh hello Serraenity. Phoenix was the one who brought me here. What seems to be the matter?", He asked.
I told Methias about the giant hound. It was critically injured and it seems like it has been attacked by someone.. or something.
"I wanted to help it so badly but I can't summon magical powers that could cure the sick.. I was hoping that you could help it since that you have that power.", I said to Methias hoping that he could do something.
"Don't worry, I got this.", he replied.
I felt so relieved when Methias said those words. He was so confident on what he was doing and I put my whole trust in him.
I saw him bending on his knees leaning towards the hound, took out his right hand and placing it on the hound's lower abdomen. I was mesmerized to see that his hand was glowing. "Woah, so this is how Clerics use their powers to heal other living creatures. That's just so amazing. I wish I could do those.", I thought.
Within just a few seconds, the wound was healed. And the scar on the lower abdomen was completely gone!
"All done. Now you don't have to worry no more. Just try to not let giant hounds wander off in the woods especially after sunset. It's too dangerous.", said Methias.
"I can't thank you enough Methias! If it wasn't for you, I did not know what else to do.. I just can't leave this poor hound lying hopelessly here. Well, I too didn't know that it would suddenly wander off at this hour. In fact, I don't even know where it belongs. Maybe it was chased by something.", I replied.
"Well I would do anything to help someone in need.", he said while smiling and scratching his head.
"Hmm.. by the way, what do you mean by danger, Methias? Do you know any sign of who could've done this?", I asked him curiously.
"It must've been the elves.", he said.
"Elves?"
"Yes, elves. They are known as hunters in the woods. They must've aimed on this hound because as you can see, the wound on the hound's lower abdomen looked like it had been shot by an arrow."
"What? Why would they do such a thing?! How cruel! If I happen to see one of those bloody elves I would.."
"Wait Serraenity, something is not right. Normally elves would hunt for animals that are edible like wild pigs or fishes. And they usually keep hounds as pets."
"Huh? Then why would they want to kill their own pet? I just don't understand!"
"I think it's no ordinary elf that had done this. It must be the dark elves that are corrupted by the Black Dragon's evil power."
Methias told me that the Black Dragon was a huge, hideous, evil monster that wants to destroy all innocent living creatures so it could rule over Lagendia. I felt so scared as I heared such stories but then, I realized that I shouldn't be. Maybe this was the purpose of my consistent training with Master Sorceress Tamara. To stand united with the others to defeat the Black Dragon!
"Umm.. Methias?"
"Yes Serraenity?"
*giggles* "Just call me Serra."
"Oh.. haha. Yes Serra, what is it?"
"You know that Sorceresses and Clerics don't usually get along right?"
"Haha.. Yes I knew that. Father use to tell me such ridiculous stories when I was a little kid. But he told me not to believe it."
"Really? Why is that?"
"Well.. because my father married one. Hehehe."
"He did what??? So that means.. you're mother is a.."
"Yes she is. In fact, she was one of the nicest and kindest Sorceress at that time. So my father fell for her, and she fell for him then they got married and bla bla bla.. I was born."
"Wow.. That's so amazing Methias. I never knew that they could get along so well till they were married."
"Haha.. yeah"
Suddenly Methias kept quiet for a while and he shooked up.
"What's wrong Methias? Are you alright?" I asked.
"I'm fine.. it's just that I miss mother so much. I wish I could see her again.", he replied while trying to hold his tears.
"I'm so sorry to hear that.. Mind if I ask what happened?"
"Hmmm.. It was a long story. All I can remember, is when I was a toddler. My mother hid me inside a basket and covered it with a blanket at some place. Father told me once that the village in Mana Ridge at that time was attacked by Witches. The whole place was burned down into ashes. So my father went out to battle with all the other Clerics to fight the Witches. Luckily, they manage to defeat the Witches but not all of them were killed. One of them was my mother's step sister, the evil Witch that ruled over their kingdom. She was the one who killed my mother! The vengeance towards my evil step aunt still lurks within me.. And I will fulfill it no matter what it takes!"
Methias then burst into tears. All I could do was just patting his back trying to make him feel better.
"I'm very sorry to hear that Methias.. But you have to be strong. I know you are. Who knows, maybe the Black Dragon has something to do with your aunt and we can find a way to track it."
"Thanks Serra. It was really nice of you to say that. You are so much like my mother.. nice, sweet and kind. I thank God that He brought you to me. Hmm.. well I never thought of that. But there's no doubt that my step aunt would do such a thing. We will find out about that Black Dragon sooner or later."
I just nodded my head and smiled. Then I noticed the time, it was already late.
"Oh look at the time, it's getting late. Guess I better get going. Thanks for your help, Methias. I really appreciate it.", I said to him.
"Don't mention it Serra.. I had to do what I have to do. I just can't believe that I met such a kind person like you. I am truly blessed." he replied.
I smiled and head my way back.
"Wait! What about the giant hound?" he asked.
"I think you better keep it, Methias. I would want to keep it too but Daddy won't allow me to keep more pets." I replied.
"Hahaha.. well okay then."
So Methias took the giant hound with him and kept it as his pet. I told Phoenix to keep them company through the woods as usual just in case they don't get lost.
I warped to my house because I was too tired to walk along the way. As I entered the front door and went up the stairs, I noticed Daddy was already fast asleep in his room. I smiled as I looked at him and yawned. Well, it is now time for me to hit the sack. I walked to my room and went straight to bed.
