[11] The Hunt for the Diamond Necklace

Amulet's POV

"The first activity you will be doing as a group is hunting the diamond necklace. In this activity you will be given clues and you will find the hidden item. This will be the decider for who will play in the Brain Wars - Puzzle Event." Mr. Balker said.

Hindi na nagsayang ng oras si Mr. Balker at binigyan kami ni sir ng isa-isang envelope every group. Kinuha naman ito ni Atom.

"Let's start," when I turned around to see the other groups, I can see in their faces that they are really eager to win. "On your marks, get set, go!" Binuksan agad ni Atom ang envelope upang mabasa na namo ang unang clue.

Clue #1

Tears of joy and grief,
Laughter from my speech.
Boredom or excitement,
Love or hate directed at me
But when we part
I'm put away,
Left to rot for endless days.
Dust settles on my back,
But feelings for me you do not lack.
What am I?

That was a long clue. I see in my group mates' faces that they are really thinking. Nakita ko namang ang Team Stunning ay lumabas na ng room. Nevermind them. Focus Amulet. Focus.

Tears and joy and grief?
Laughter from my speech?

"I have an idea!" Atom suddenly muttered.

"A book, let's go to the library," bulong niya sa amin.

We nodded. Hindi na kami kumontra pa.

Nagmadali naman kaming lumabas at nagkasabay kami ng isang team.

Tumakbo na si Barron at naiwan kaming tatlong parang naglalakad ngunit tumatakbo talaga kami.

Pagdating namin sa library ay nakita namin ang Team Stunning. Naku! Dapat magmadali kami.

Pero, ang daming libro saan naman dito hahanapin at ang laki ng library. Napaisip nanaman ako sa clue.

Dust settles on my back.

Ibig sabihin ay matagal na ang librong ito. Sa pagkakaalam ko ang pinakamatandang libro sa library ay ang libro ng history ng school.

Hinanap ko ang libro at tama nga ako. May apat na envelope ang nasa last page. So kami ang unang nakakita.

"Wala dito guys," sinabi ko at tinignan ko sila na parang may pinapahiwatig. I see that they understand me.

Nakita ko naman sa mga kaklase ko na litong-lito na sila.

Lumabas na ako at sumunod naman ang group mates ko.

"I found the second clue!"

"Saan mo nakita?" Atom asked.

"The oldest book in the library, the history of the school book." I explained.

The three of them nodded.

Pumunta kami sa isang sulok na walang tao at binuksan ang envelope.

Clue #2
In the school I'm in the center.
For a long time I've been there.

A very short clue but I already know the answer. I think my teammates know too.

The Twin Star Garden which is the center of the school. We started walking towards the garden. Parang hindi naubusan ng energy si Barron, at humarurot na papunta doon.

After 10 minutes of walking we arrived at the entrance of the garden.

Napagdesisyunan namin na maghiwa-hiwalay kami at hinanap ang clue sa buong garden. Barron went off to the left and Crystal went on the right. I went on the Twin Star Monument. After a few seconds of searching, I found four envelopes there and I think we're first to find it again.

I called my teammates and they quickly ran to me.

I quickly opened the envelope to read the clue.

Clue #3

The diamond necklace lies in a cylinder.
Surrounded by a thousand squares.

I believe this is the last clue. So we need to answer this immediately or else maabutan pa kami.

A cylinder? thousand squares?

Suddenly. Nakita ko ang Team Stunning na parating na dito.

Oh no! We need to think fast.

"I know the answer!" Barron shouted.

"A toilet paper."

"But there are so many comfort rooms in the school," I said.

"Maghiwalay-hiwalay tayo, kapag may makakita na sa atin, ibalik na agad sa room." Atom suggested.

The three of us nodded.

"Let's use my invention which is called C-Chip for our communication," sabi ni Crystal habang kunkuha niya ito sa kanyang pocket.

Nashocked naman kaming tatlo at napanganga.

"How?" I asked.

"I love inventing things and specially science. But too bad I was chosen to be a Binarius student. But, I find it fun here also," she explained.

We nodded and kinuha ang 'C-Chip' na singliit ng isang chip. Ang tanga mo talaga, Amulet. Chip nga eh. Linagay ko ito sa tenga ko.

Nagsimula na kaming maglakad. I went on the 1st building para hanapin sa comfort rooms.

I went to the ground floor CRs. After searching for 2 minutes wala akong nakita at umakyat na sa 2nd floor. Naghanap lang ako ng naghanap. From one cubicle to another.

When I was in the last floor napagod na ako. Para akong nahihilo but hindi ako papayag dapat manalo kami.

When I looked in a cubicle nakita ko sa toilet paper na may necklace. A diamond necklace!

"Found the target!" I spoke to the 'C-Chip' and they just replied "Get it and go back to Mr. Balker, we'll meet in the classroom."

Kukunin ko na sana ang diamond necklace but someone pushed me at nadapa ako sa sahig. Kinuha ng lalake ang diamond necklace at tumakbo na. Sa bilis ng pangyayari ay wala akong nagawa para pigilan siya.

"Guys a problem someone stole it!"

"Just met them at the hallway and try to get it!" I suggested.

Minutes have passed.
I am hoping na mabawi nila ang neclace. But I heard a bad news from the 'C-Chip'.

"Team Stunning won," the three of them said sadly. I walked to the hallway na matamlay. Kung kinuha ko lang yun agad-agad.

Pagdating ko sa Lab ay nakita ko na matamlay din ang group mates ko.

"I'm sorry guys, if it wasn't because of me, hindi sanaiyon nabawi kung agad kong kinuha 'yon."

"It's okay, bawi nalang tayo next activity," Crystal tried to cheer us.

Nang dumating na ang lahat ay ina-nounce na ni sir ang winner.

"The winner of the activity and the representative in the upcoming Brain Wars - Puzzle event."

So devastating that we didn't get to win our first chance to be able to win the game and we will not be able to represent the Stage 1-Binarius in the Brain Wars.

Plus, wala pa kaming addition of points sa aming mga pangalan.
