You're a runner now

AUTHOR'S POV

Newt looked at him worried

Him: You spent the night on that bloody ground for me? Why?

Thomas: You were drunk, and you needed help, so I helped you. I couldn't leave you by yourself in the condition you were. And I stayed in case you had feel bad in the night. To be there for you, like you are for me.

Newt giggled and then came back to his natural calm.

Him: Tommy... I...

"Thomas??" They heard. "Is it you right there?"

The boy came to him.

Him: My god! I finally found you! I searched in the whole glade!! Thanks god I found you!

Thomas gave a quickly confused look to Newt and looked back to the boy.

Thomas: Why did you searched me?

Him: Oh sorry, I didn't presented myself. I'm chuck! And today Alby charged me to give you a guided tour of the glade! And also Minho also charged me to came find you to do your test for the runners!! So let's get started.

Thomas looked back to Newt

Newt: It's okay, I'm not drunk anymore, you don't have to worry about me now.

Thomas: What do you wanted to say earlier before Chuck showed up?

Newt: Nothing! Nothing that you have to worry for!

He smiled to him

Thomas: okay! Alright then! I will be somewhere in the glade if you need me!

And then he left with Chuck.

Newt would have tell him that he loves him but realized that maybe that wasn't the best time for that.

So Chuck showed all the glade to Thomas explained all the glade works, the rules and then showed him his bed.

After that he brings him to Minho.

Minho: Hey greenie! Ready for your tests?? If we do it quickly we can have the time to go in the maze!

So they stopped talking and Thomas did his tests and while he was doing it, Minho noticed that someone was looking to Thomas. It was Newt. He took a break in his job to watch Thomas do his tests.

When he finished, Thomas came to Minho

Minho smiled to him

Him: Welcome to the runner team Thomas!!

This was so amazing!! He will be a runner! He will be able to get them and Newt out of here!!

Thomas hugged him

Thomas: Thank you Min!!!

Newt who was watching them for far away understand when Thomas gave to Minho a hug, he would be a runner. And at this moment he knew we would loose him. So he walked away.

And Thomas noticed that.He looked at him who slowly disappeared in the glade. Minho looked at the same thing

Minho: I'm worried about him you know.

He looked at him concerned

Him: Why??

Minho: Because he cares about you more than everyone in that maze! The moment you showed up, it woke up something in him. Usually, the first one who go see the new greenie it's Alby. But for you, it was him. And he didn't do that for anyone. And the night, when we do parties, he gets drunk alone and didn't want help from anybody. But when you helped him, he just let you help him. This means a lot. You mean a lot for him so don't do anything stupid understood?

Thomas nodded

Minho smiled again

Him: Okay then! Let's go in the maze!

Thomas looked at him confused

Thomas: We are just the two of us? Where is the blond one?

Minho: Ben?

Thomas nodded and Minho's face became dark.

Him: He is not felling well today. When I came to see him this morning he was in his bed, hardly sleeping and always moving. Maybe he was having a nightmare. I rather that he stays I will check on him when we will came back. So are you ready?

Thomas smiled

Him: More than ever!

So they entered in the maze and they started running.

MEANWHILE

Newt was working in the fields. In one hour, the door will close. And he was upset about his Tommy. Would he make it out there? Would he come back in time?

And then someone brings him back to the reality. It was someone who was walking very slow to him. And then stopped. It was Ben.

He smiled to him.

Him: Ben! Aren't you supposed to be in the maze with Thomas and Minho?

Ben was breathing faster and became angry. Newt could see that his veins were dark, almost black.

At this moment Thomas and Minho came back from the maze. They both saw Ben and Newt.

Minho: oh no!!!

Thomas: What??

Minho: I think Ben have been stung by a griver.

Thomas suddenly had a flashback

FLASHBACK

Ava: This one is named Newt. But unfortunately he is not immune so he will take more time to recover.

Him: NEWT NO!!!!

Thomas started running in Newt direction. Newt was still looking at Ben.

Newt: Ben are you alright?

Ben suddenly jumped on Newt but Thomas pushed Newt on the ground and Minho stabbed Ben to be able to stop him.

Newt was on the ground with Thomas on him. They were facing each other very close and then Thomas looked everywhere on Newt's body worried that he could be bitten

Thomas: Newt!!! Are you okay!!!! Did he hurts you?????

All could Newt see in Thomas eyes was worries. He was so happy that someone cares about him.

So he just smiled to him

Newt: Don't worry Tommy! I'm fine!

They were still as close as they were and Thomas just become a little bit closer. Their lips were almost touching.

Thomas: Don't ever do that again!! You have scared me!!! What would I have done if you would being bitten? I would have lost you! And I would rather anything than that!

And he stood up letting Newt on the ground. The way his said his last sentence was so painful. It just confirmed to Newt that maybe Thomas loved him too. Could it be possible?
