Jake and I hung out a lot after that. He took me to eat, to his house, even the mall. We got really close so I told him about my dad and my fake leg. When I told him that he told me something only his parents know... Jake was gay. I was so confused. How could somebody so hot be gay? That was a bummer but Jake didn't care what people thought of him. Surprisingly, he was really good at shopping and one time he even came with me to get a pedicure; he knew I was insecure about how I could only get one foot done. Jake got along with my other friends really well too. We'd all just have the best sleepovers. He even planned a surprise party for my 15th birthday. I was finally happy until that one bad day that turned everything around. It was mid-winter and Jake's mom called me. She said he had pneumonia and was in the hospital. He wasn't doing very well and she wanted me to come visit. My mom took me and I saw Jake. He was so weak. I couldn't lose another guy in my life. It was hard enough to watch my dad die, but now Jake? I couldn't take it... I started crying in front of Jake. I told him how I thought he was really hot when I met him and how I loved him. He managed to laugh at that. I told him everything. I visited him every day but he only got worse. I asked my dad to help him get better but nothing worked. One night at about 1am I got a call. It was from the hospital. "Jake died peacefully in his sleep tonight. He was doing very poorly and he wanted you to be one of the first to hear if he passed away. I am very sorry for your loss. He left you a message in case he died and it said: Brooke, thank you for never judging me. I love you as my best friend forever and know that I will watch over you and let you know how your dad is doing. I love you Brookie, more then you could ever know." My mom overheard the news and came in my room to comfort me. I broke down into tears and screamed "WHY DO BAD THINGS ALWAYS HAPPEN TO ME? LOSING MY DAD WASNT ENOUGH?" My mom just hugged me and said "I'm always here for you sweetie. I love you." I went to Jakes funeral along with my other friends and cried when I saw him. He looked so peaceful and I knew he was in heaven with my dad. Afterwards Meryl, Lauren, Paige, Lexi, Mckayla and I went to the place where I first met Jake. We celebrated his life, because he taught us that we can still live our life, no matter who judges us. I miss Jake so much, but I knew this was another mountain in my life.
This chapter was super long... I'll keep updating soon!
