"Hannah, my dear," Mother said stepping into my room to sit on my bed while I closed the door.

"What's going on Mother?" I said, obviously seeing that she needed to tell me something.

"You know you can tell me anything right?" She said looking at my confused expression. "And, you know that your friends are always welcome here."

"Mother, I know all of that," I said taking a seat next to her on my bed. "But I have a suspicion that you aren't telling me everything that you want me to know."

"I just want you to be safe, Hannah. Even if it's something that you feel a bit uncomfortable talking about to me, there are other people." Now she had me really confused. "I was thinking that you could go see the family doctor to talk about your "protection plan" with your future partners an-"

"Oh god Mum!" I said covering my face. "I'm not in a relationship with Byron if that's what you think. And I certainly don't need to see the doctor about "protection" as I'm not planing on doing anything anytime soon."

"Okay," Mother whisper-spoke back, before standing up and brushing her dress down. "Well, if you are to get in a relationship, you can always tell me."

"I know Mother," I said also standing up now. "Now that that is all clarified, I need to go to my study and do some school work."

"Of course my dear, um, talk later," she said before leaving.

I stood in my room for a moment, giggling a little bit. How on earth could she think that I was with Byron? God, that was so awkward. I quickly grabbed my phone and headed down to the study to do some maths homework.

While in my spacious study, I got a call from Ethan.

"Hey hun," he said with his sort of high pitched voice.

"Hey E!"

"I was wondering if you wanted to hang out tonight with a few close friends? You know, only inner circle; plus a few extras," he spoke while what seemed to be like he was in the car.

"E, it's a school night tonight. If I got drunk tonight, even without it being a party, I would very highly regret it tomorrow."

"Who said that we were drinking?"

"Are you saying that Ethan Whyte won't drink when he has his friends around?" I sarcastically asked. "What will he do next? Stop making out with unrecognisable girls?"

"Ha ha, super funny," he replied in a just as sarcastic tone. "And no, I won't drink tonight. But no promises on the girl thing."

"Why the sudden interest in not drinking? You're not gonna do drugs instead right?!" Ethan was a very unpredictable person but I never thought that he would be someone to do drugs.

"God Hannah! Who do you think I am!" He replied (thank god). "Anyway, I just think that we haven't spent that much time just hanging out as a group rather then getting wasted as a group."

He had a point. The last time our inner circle just hung out sober was Grace's 17th; we all said we wouldn't drink unless we all could.

"Good point," I replied. "So what should I wear? I'm thinking.." We went on talking about what o would wear and what he would wear.

We decided that I would wear red, floral, Gucci PJs with some black print heels, while he decided to keep it simple with a white and grey stripped tee-shirt with some jeans and Adidas sneakers.

I arrived at Ethan's big house (but not big enough to be called a mansion) and walked up the pathway to the door, only to see that Byron was waiting by the door too.
