A/N: Here's Chapter 3, I'm updating pretty regularly because I had most of this written beforehand so I just need to post it, really. If it's relatively popular, I might think of entering it in the Wattpad Awards, whenever that is. Aside from that though, hope you all enjoy the latest chapter! :D

Dedicated to 'longtimegone' for adding the story to her reading list :D

Chapter 3.

When Mason turned around again to work with me, I contemplated pretending I hadn't heard what Mrs.Smith had just said. That plan failed though when he smiled, waved at me in a rather retarded manner and said, "So, Veronica, are you any good at Biology?"

I glared at him. "Have you not noticed that I sleep through practically every class?"

He raised an eyebrow, "Ouch. Okay, do you want to get the equipment or should I?"

Getting up off the desk, I made my way to the front desk to collect the leaves, not bothering to reply to him. It wasn't as though I was a rude person, I just wasn't  in the mood right now. To tell the truth, I hadn't got much sleep last night, I'd been up late worrying over what I could do to catch Jason out and now I just felt stupid. It was obvious that Mason had had his ideas about what to do for a while and here I was, stressing over it.

When I'd got the leaves, I made my way back to the table, surprised to find that Mason had already got the dissecting kit from the cupboard. "Thanks." I muttered, attempting to be polite.

"It's no problem." Mason smirked, "You know, I was texting Jason last night and-"

I cut him off. "Right, I tried calling him and he didn't answer. What did he have going on that was so important?" It kind of hurt that my boyfriend was purposely ignoring me.

Mason looked surprised, "He said he was at the cinema, watching some new film that just came out, maybe that's why he couldn't answer the phone. Anyway, I asked him about you and he said it was none of my business to ask about his girlfriends." He paused, "I'm a bit annoyed about that, I mean, it's not like I was prying."

I answered whilst I was dividing my leaf into three parts with the scalpel, "I'm so done with him right now. We've been going out for about five months and he's never behaved like this before."

"Enough about him. We'll have enough time to talk about Jason tomorrow, when we're outside his house. Tell me about yourself instead."

I laughed, "You make it sound like we're stalking on him. What do you want to know?"

Mason shrugged, "Anything. What's your family like?"

"Well, I've got an older sister, Mary, whose away at university at the moment so it's just me and my parents right now. How about you?"

He smiled, "It's just me, my mum and my younger brother, Ben."

I didn't like to ask about his dad, so I changed the subject, "Are you sure we've dissected this leaf right? That girl over there" I pointed at Amelia "did it differently."

Mason rolled his eyes, "Well how are we supposed to just know how to do it anyway? The teacher didn't even explain anything. I think-"

The bell for next lesson cut him off and everyone started packing away, ignorant of Mrs.Smith's orders at the front of the classroom. I ran out of the room, partly to avoid Mason and partly to avoid being called back by Mrs.Smith.

As I walked to my next lesson, History, I found myself wishing that I hadn't agreed to go out with Jason in the first place, maybe then I wouldn't have to deal with all this unnecessary aggravation. Somehow I just knew today would be a long day.
