I woke up the next morning with the biggest smile on my face because today is Homecoming! I skipped to my bathroom and put on music on my phone. I danced while putting toothpaste on my toothbrush and brushed my teeth. I gargled mouthwash and spit it in the sink. I smiled into the mirror. Squeaky clean. I didn't feel like getting dressed because homecoming is not until 8:00 pm. The bonfire begins when the dance ends and who knows when that will last?

I went downstairs and made myself a bowl of Captain Crunch. Don't make fun of me. It's scrumdeliumptious! While I ate my cereal I watched an episode of Pretty Little Liars. About ten minutes into the episode my doorbell rang. What else is new? I paused my tv and dragged myself to the front door. It was Rachel.

  "Surprise!" She said.

I yawned. "What are you doing here?"

"Um isn't it obvious?" She pointed to a plastic bag and a makeup case in her hand.

  "No." I said sarcastically.

She rolled her eyes. "Just let me in." She pushed her way into my house and took my bowl of cereal.

"Hey! I was going to eat that!"  I said with my hands on my hips.

  "Sorry. I skipped breakfast."

I made myself another bowl and sat next her on the couch. I unpaused the t.v. .

"Oh! I saw this episode already! Ezra-"

I cut her off. "Don't you dare tell me what happened!" "I missed last week's episode."

She placed her bowl of cereal on my coffee table. "Well, can we not watch this right now and talk about something really important?" She asked.

  "What is this about?"

  "Destiny." She said.

"What about her?" I suddenly focused on the conversation.

"I saw her talking to Eli yesterday after school."

"What were they talking about?" I played with a button on my pajama shirt.

"I don't know. I couldn't hear, but I could tell that it wasn't a happy neutral conversation." "They sounded like they were arguing and Destiny kept whining. Eli looked soo annoyed. He cussed under his breath and walked away." "I had to bounce because he almost saw me hiding in the bushes."

"Oh. At least they were arguing. I thought he was cheating on me." "Did I tell you that Destiny had the nerve of asking me to breakup with Eli for her?"

  "Nooo!"

  "Yes! She did! Yesterday."

  "Well?"

I gave a "What do you think I said?" look. "Of course I said no."

"Do you think she'll try anything at the dance?"

"No. Eli made it clear that he wants nothing to do with her. I trust him." I smiled.

I unpaused the episode once again and we watched the rest of it.

Rachel helped zip the back of my dress and she curled the ends of my hair. My hair was half up and half down. It looked really pretty overall because earlier Rach dyed my hair an ombre of a  blondish brown color. I stumbled trying to break into my black four inch stilletos.

"Don't worry you'll get used to it." I gave her a slight smile. What she doesn't know is that I put ballet flats in my purse to switch out at the dance.
