Jayfeather x reader pt.4

Last part! What was the news that they heard? Sorry for the cliffhanger! (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻ anyways...on with the story!

Me and Jayfeather were laying in our nest entwining our tails together , purring when... BAM! A panting redtuft burst into the elders den, we burst to our paws when redtuft said "honeyheart is expecting *pant* kits!" He said excitedly racing around the camp telling everyone who passed him, honeyheart came out of the medicine cat den looking shocked and excited she padded too the corner of the camp and watched redtuft run around and waited for him too calm down. Redtuft layed down next too honeytuft licking her cheek and purring loudly, I turned back into the elders den and layed down listening to the others chat about how good it will be for there to be more kits around to bug us. I padded outside and sat down next to redtuft as he watched honeyhearts every move but I just stared at him until he noticed me, I started to lick my (p/c) pelt when "oh! Hi (w/n) what are you doing here... Beside me..." He asked, "oh well I'm just here to tell you that you don't need to watch honeyhearts every single move, she won't explode and she isn't expected for 4 moons" I told him. "Well... You never know she could get stung by a bee... A honeybee" he laughed at his pun "but a tree could fall on her, or a clan could attack, or tigerstar could come into the camp and kill her, or.." he listed looking more and more anxious as he continued his list off possible disasters, "hey, chill. Look she is coming back right now, Imma go find Jayfeather" I said he getting up and walking away, passing by honeyheart and saying "redtuft is going crazy" and continuing to walk. I padded into the elders den to find Jayfeather and lionblaze napping, I decided to wake Jayfeather up so I tiptoed up to jayfeather and booped his snoot, he jumped up fur rising then falling when he realized that it was just me. I started purring and walking out of the den, him scampering after me. We padded up to the lake walking along the edge we watched the sun defend from the sky, I looked at him and started purring loudly "I love you and I'm so happy for our son and his mate." I mewed, "me too, I love you too." He replied happily.

I was sleeping when I heard a screech of pain I ran out of the elders den to find that honeyheart was giving birth, I padded over to redtuft giving him a knowing look and padded away to find jayfeather. As always he was in the elders den, sleeping still, I woke him up to tell him that our child's mate was giving birth but when he heard mate he was already halfway across the clearing about to enter the nursery but I blocked his way, "you are and elder now we don't do this anymore!" I told him "ok fine let's just go back to the elders den and wait." He replied sadly. As we waited for the kits to be born I felt a sharp pain in my side, so I started to cough, but the cough wasn't like any normal cough it was different I continued to cough until I started coughing up blood I started to feel dizzy and I passed out. I woke up in the medicine cats den feeling horrible, I coughed and walked outside. I made my way to the nursery to see the kits, redtuft met me half way "(w/n) are you ok?" He asked "I'm fine" I croaked "just a little under the weather, how are your kits?", He looked at me eyes full with excitement "well the first kit is named moonkit and it's a she cat, the second male kit is named ravenkit and the third kit is named (y/k/n), she is named after you." He said happily, I felt so happy at that moment I nuzzled him and went back inside the medicine cats den, I layed down feeling very sick and feeling death approaching. I closed my eyes one last time whispering "it's been a good run." And then I closed my eyes slowly, breathing became shallower and ragged until it stopped.
