I could only have visitors between 3 and 6, so that left the school hours lonely. I would sit in the nurses office taking notes from teachers notebooks and doing the homework I was missing out on. All I really wanted to do was talk to Lily about the Salvatore's and exploring their files. I was always one to follow rules and behave. Yet, something drew me to these files; an unbreakable attraction.
As I laid on the bed, I could hear the door open in the main office of the nurse. There was a knock at the door, and Lexi walked in with a smiling face and gummy worms in her hand.
"Look at you," she said as she sat in the chair next to me. "You look better."
"You should tell that to Nurse Campbell. She won't let me leave this prison unless I have to get clothes. Still she would rather have someone get it for me," I rolled my eyes, and Lexi laughed.
"Wow. Under surveillance," Lexi chewed on a gummy worm as she spoke.
"You'd think I committed a crime," I laughed. When I looked at the clock, I looked back at Lexi. "Why are you out of school so early? It's 1:30."
"I told them I needed to see you. I went to Saltzman and he got me a pass to come in. Campbell is good with it," Lexi shrugged. I was confused though. Ms. Campbell would barely let Lily in. Instead of questioning it, I was just glad to have company to talk to.
"So, how is everyone?" I asked. "I've been in this chamber for 2 days now. I can only imagine what the outside world is like."
"Everyone's fine. You're not missing much of anything," Lexi said. She stood up, unable to stay still anymore. "Don't you have any music in here? It's really quiet."
I shrugged, "I never thought of music, really,"
"Really? Well you need some," Lexi tapped her thigh.
"I'm really not planning on staying here long. They said I should be out by tomorrow night," I said looking toward the one window I had. "I can't even touch me phone."
"Well who do you need to talk to? I can help you out yanno," Lexi walked over to me and sat at my feet on the bed. I looked at her and smirked.
"You can do one little thing for me," I raised my eyebrows.
"Sure! What's up?" Lexi asked.
"Well, I never really get to see Lily. And to talk to her would be fantastic,"
"Of course! When do you need her?"
"As soon as you can get her?" I smiled.
Lexi nodded, and added, "Right when I see her, I'll tell her to come down." Lexi looked down at her phone and looked up. "Well I need to go. Get well Elena."
She threw a gummy worm on my lap and winked as she walked out. I smiled back. Now I just needed to wait for Lily to get there. Because once she did, the investigation began.

I had read the Allegory of the cave about a million times while I was in the small room. It didn't seem like much to me. Just about a man who was trapped in his cave his whole life to one day be unchained and go free into the world. Maybe I wasn't reading in depth but I hadn't been to a tutoring lesson with Damon for a week now. He came in once to see how I was doing, but we didn't talk much. He reminded me about the allegory and as fast as he walked in, he walked back out. Bonnie visited me. She brought me some homework and notes. We talked a little about how school was going, then, of course, she left.
I hadn't really seen Caroline. But then again, I didn't expect it. I was acting pretty much insane the day I came to the nurses. It had almost been like that day was just a dream. It was foggy in my head. I tried not to think of it, due to my now pounding headache. I laid down hoping for sleep to come.
