CHAPTER 24

“Burning Desire."

Few months after Adrians disappearance and before the first day of college

Marinas POV

I couldn't wait to immerse myself in studies and I bet you think I'm crazy for loving school but really i don't. I just need something to distract me from all that had happened this year.

Right now I was walking around with my future college, getting a tour from one of the professors. His name was Professor Tushman of the journalism major department which was the major I chosen.

His name sure did fit him though. His butt was like 7 feet in width. He was short and chubby. He had a patch of bald in the middle section of his head but never less he had hair that surrounded the spot which was a grayish white color. He also had a handlebar moustache that also was coated in grey. He had on a white shirt covered with a green plaid sweater vest, khaki pants, and some fancy looking shoes. I dressed as professional as I possibly could with a sleeveless dark blue shirt with ruffles, a black cardigan, some dark blue skinny jeans and black ballerina flats. I put my coal hair into a side braid and wore a pearl necklace I got from a dance last year. Right now we were in his classroom discussing what he would expect from me and how excited he was to have me. I had gotten my admission letter a week ago and when I saw I had gotten in, I jumped with glee and marked my calender for today.

I forgot to mention Professor Tushman had a very deep Romanian accent.

Next thing was the questions which were questions from the teachers to the students and we would have to answer honestly.

"Lets began!" He said in his deep accent sitting in his desk while I took a seat in front of him.

"First question, will you be living on campus or living outside?"

"Outside." I answered politely.

"Have you've ever had any encounters with the police?"

"No."

"Why did you choose journalism as your major?"

"Because I felt like connect with journalism more and wanted to do a major I'd enjoy." I answered truthfully.

"If you didn't have chosen journalism what would have you have picked?"

"Education because of my love of kids."

"Okay we are done here, congratulations Marina Clifford!"

He said standing up and shaking my hand.

He handed me my schedule.

"I will see you next week."

And with that I dispersed out of the school.

As I was walking towards the side walk that lead to my house, my phone started ringing. I froze and fished my phone out of my back pocket.

Plastered on the screen was : The Police Station

A chill went down my back as I reluctantly answered the call.

"Hello?"

"Marina Clifford?"

"Yes, this is she."

"We have good news and bad news."

I gulped.

"We found Adrian Kay's car just outside the city limits but."

My heart dropped into my stomach.
But what?
