I, Draco Malfoy, being an embarrassment of the Wizarding World, didn't dare to owl or meet Y/N. I was too ashamed of myself.

People always say "a drunk mind speaks a sober heart", I probably really was a pervert deep down. Two weeks had passed. I still hadn't mustered enough courage to get in touch with her. I didn't know how she thought about me after that night. I didn't get a word from her. Maybe she hated me.

Never mind. Everyone loves to hate Draco Malfoy, it doesn't make any difference when one more person on earth hates him.

No, it's different. You don't care about the others, but you surely care about what she thinks about you. Why don't you stop being a coward and contact her?

I decided to owl her but I got no reply on the same day - I guess she's busy.

I still hadn't got her owl on the next day - I guess she just forgot to reply.

On the third day, still no reply - I guess she's just...

I couldn't find any excuses for her not replying my letter anymore. Although I was reluctant to admit, I supposed she really hated me and didn't want to deal with me anymore. But then, another thought popped up.

Why don't you go to her place and apologize in person?

On the same day (three days after I'd sent her my apology), I left my office earlier than usual in hope of arriving Y/N's apartment before she came back from work, just in case if she didn't want to see my face, I could still manage to talk to her.

Standing at the doorstep for hours, I still couldn't see her coming back from work. I knocked on the door and no one answered. Is she still working at her office?

I was going to apparate and head to her office when I heard a "pop" sound which indicated someone just apparated. I felt relieved and hurriedly turned around, expecting to see Y/N, who's in her usual work attire. However, it wasn't her. Standing in front of me was a middle-aged couple. They looked as surprised as I was.

"Mr. and Mrs. Y/L/N?" I recognized who they were when I found the resemblances they shared with the girl I was looking for. I'd only met them like one or twice at the King's Cross Station years ago.

"You're Draco, aren't you?" Mrs. Y/L/N asked.

"Yes, I am. What a pleasure to meet you," I smiled charmingly and greeted the couple in a way that my mother would be proud of.

"Are you here to see our daughter?" Mrs. Y/L/N questioned.

I nodded.

"She's supposed to be back three days ago and we still haven't got a word from her. We're worried and decided to come and see if she only forgot to tell us that she'd returned from her trip. You know how forgetful sometimes she can be," she continued.

"Where did she go?" I asked sourly, feeling like I was a total outsider of Y/N's life.

"She didn't tell you? She went to collect elements again, to Afghanistan."

"She went there alone?" I asked, hoping for the answer "no" from her mother.

But instead, she nodded.

Merlin! Why would she go to such a dangerous place alone?

"Are you two dating?" Mr. Y/L/N suddenly blurted out before his wife elbowed him in the ribs. He scanned me from head to toe suspiciously.

"No, we're just friends," I was shocked at his question. I didn't expect anything like that.

"Silly me, of course, you aren't dating. If you guys are dating, I'm sure she would've told you about her trip," the dad shrugged nonchalantly.

Oh yes, your daughter didn't tell me anything about her trip. She didn't even talk to me.

"Y/N said she would be back within a week. She headed off there last Monday and today's already Wednesday, it's been more than a week and we still haven't heard anything from her. She always sends us a letter when she's back from her journeys," the woman's voice trembled.

Mr. Y/L/N knocked on the door when his wife's squeezing his forearm nervously. No one answered the door as I expected. Then he took out his wand and muttered a few spells to break the wards, the door creaked open.

The apartment was dark before he turned on the lights with a wave of his wand. We couldn't find a sign of Y/N. My heart sank in distress. What happened to her?

"Dear, what should we do? Our daughter's missing," the mother sobbed while her husband pulled her into a reassuring embrace.

Shit, why didn't you tell me before you left? I'd offer to go with you without a second thought. Why didn't I just contact you right after that night? Why did I have to be such a coward? If we're still keeping in touch with each other, nothing like this would ever happen.

My mouth responded spontaneously before I could understand the words just came out of it.

"I'll go to Afghanistan to find your daughter."

A/N: Two chapters in one day! Your long wait isn't in vain :) Draco's gonna rescue his girl woohoo! Thanks for the support again!
