Making Malasada Special♡

"Hello everyone," She greets warmly with a smile. "Now I'm sure your all aware of Malasadas which is a poorly fried doughnut, but the taste is anything but poor !"

She grinned as she gestured to a line of waiting people. "Now for our surprise judges ! Nebunaga Oda himself ! The warm and friendly Yukimura Sanada, Shingen Takeda and- Hideyoshi Toyotomi ?!"

   "No way am I going to miss out on my future wife's sweets~" He replied with a smile.

"So what happened to Hanbee ?" She asked. "Oh, he forgot he had something to do." Really ? She somehow doubted that.

1 (.25 ounce) package active dried yeast

1 teaspoon white sugar

1/4 cup warm water

6 eggs

6 cups of all purpose flour

1/2 cup white sugar

1/4 cup melted butter

I cup evaporated milk

1 cup water

1 teaspoon salt 

2 quarts vegetable oil for frying 

2 cups of white sugar

First she dissolved the yeast an 1 teaspoon of sugar in 1/4 cup of warm water before setting it aside.

  In another bowl she mixed the eggs until they were thick.

In a larger bowl she poured in the flour slowly to avoid making a mess, added the yeast mix, eggs, 1/2 cup of sugar, melted butter, milk, 1 cup of water and salt. She mixed and beat it throughly until it was smooth and soft.

   Covered the dough and let it rise for a while as she prepared the vegetable oil at 375. Small balls of the dough were place in until reaching a golden brown. Then she did some changing.

"Here, Yukimura. I made a zucchini Malasada with a fluffy rich nutmeg cream filling," She placed a plate with the round doughnuts. "This is good !" He commented. The thing about Zucchini was it made everything moist and delicious.

   "Now for Shingen, since you love sweet things I made a Mochi Custard filling for you." Shingen took a toothpick and stabbed one before placing it in his mouth. "It's creamy and light," He commented before eating another

Now it was Nebunaga Oda. "Since you liked the danishes so much I made a Persimmon Cream filling," She explained. The cream was light and fluffy and would have that sweet and honey flavor while the malasada was light and fluffy itself.

  The filling was just pureed  persimmons, whipped cream and a bit of honey. Oda took a bite of his calmly but made no comment as he slowly devoured his Malasadas. "What about mine ?" Hideyoshi asked.

   She knew he hated melons so she could not be that cruel. "A five spice Malasada for you," She answered. 

5 spice contained :

Sichuan Peppercorn, it had a unique aroma and flavor floral, citrus and spice but not the kind where you need to drink a gallon of milk spice 

Cinnamon, a sweet and savory spice that was a mid brown.

Cloves gave off a sweet warm flavor that went well with the cinnamon 

Fennel, has a mild crunchy licorice flavor

Star Anise, sweet and herbal notes but had that soft licorice flavor.

Hideyoshi kept popping one into his mouth until they were gone. "I'm guessing that they were good," She replied. He looked at her seriously in the eye. "Now I want to make you my wife even more," He replied making her flush red.
