Alpha Cody

Chapter 3

'Well you need to get used to me pissing people off. You and I both know what happened today.' Cody responded

I swallowed hard reading the text over and over again.

'I'm sorry it happened. You seem upset that it did. You don't have to accept me you know' I responded sitting on my bed biting my lip waiting for a reply.

I groaned, it had been at least ten minutes since I sent the text. He was not responding and I have no idea if he read the text or not.

Deciding to give up I stood and started to undress. I needed a hot shower to clear my mind of this madness. I just wanted to go to the meeting show my face then go home. Not to have my world changed again by finding my mate. Let alone this guy doesn't even sound interested in me becoming his mate. But who am I to know what he is thinking.

I sighed walking into my bathroom and turning the dial on the shower making it steam up in the bathroom. I climbed into the shower closing my eyes letting the hot water run over my body sending goosebump everywhere. I shivered and turned and continued with the rest of my shower routine.

After my shower I checked my phone. Still nothing from Cody. I growled and set my phone down on silent. I couldn't dwell on a stupid boy. No matter what my Uncle said I wasn't gonna cloud my mind with thoughts of him

It was finally the day of the dance. I don't know why but my body has been feeling like I am on fire. Everything hurt. It felt as if I had a bad sun burn.

Climbing into yet another ice cold shower to try to cool myself off. Nothing was working to try to cool my body off. Many of the younger unmated males in my pack are paying more attention to me. Too much in my liking. It is driving me crazy.

I jumped hearing a knock on the bathroom door. I growled and turned the shower off. "Who is it!" I yelled

"It's me alpha. It's time we leave for the dance!" John called. I groaned and got out wrapping the towel around myself and fixed my hair and did my makeup. I walked out of the bathroom and looked around not seeing John anywhere.

Sighing in relief I walked over and grabbed my black sparkly dress from my closet. It was strapless with a slit on the right side. Not to slutty in my opinion. I slipped the dress on and grabbed my red heels and slipped them on.

"John!" I called for my beta walked down the stairs towards the front door.

"Yes?" John asked swallowing hard seeing me. I smiled at him.

"Ready to go?" I asked fixing my earring and opened the front door heading to the car.

I climbed into the passenger seat and buckled myself in and looked over at John once he was ready. Sweat was already rolling down his forehead his jaw clenched tight making the veins pop out of his neck.

I shifted in my seat uncomfortably and looked out the window hoping it wasn't me causing all this trouble

John slammed on the gas making the car jerk froward as we sped off down the drive way. I tightened my seat belt holding onto it tightly out of fear.

Before I knew it we came to a screeching haunt making the car rock foreword then back coming to a complete rest. John quickly turned the car off and got out of the car taking a deep breath.

I bit my lip and climbed out of the car only to see that John had disappeared. Frowning I walked towards the mansion.

Walking inside I glanced around at all the people. There was more people here than I thought there would be. Severe beautiful women dancing around in lavishing dresses. I started to feel underdressed.

Walking towards an empty table, I sat down and looked around at everyone. Soon I felt a hand being laid on my back. I froze at the feeling. I knew it wasn't Cody. It wasn't that feeling. It was different. I turned and looked at the younger male.

He was about my age maybe even younger. He has sandy-blonde hair. His skin a Carmel color and his eyes a deep shade of blue. I swallowed hard and forced a smile

Cody rolled his eyes listening to the group of guys he stood with. The things they were talking about were crazy. He looked over at Rose's uncle Jet who was standing amongst the group.

Soon everything became serious. Tension grew in the group. "Someone is in heat." Jet growled looking around the room. Cody swallowed hard. He knew who that was. His heart started to pound. Where was she? Where was his mate.

Panic started to rise from deep within Cody. He needed to find his mate before something terrible happened to her. He needed to calm her heat before it had all the unmated males in the house coming for her.

Breaking away from the group he looked around for her his heart pounding rapidly in his chest.

"Get off me!" I yelled trying to push the young male off me who was trying to force his way onto me. Before I knew it the boy was ripped off me and thrown to the floor. "She's mine now back off!" Cody yelled aggressively growling loudly.

I whined and pulled my dress back up over my chest pressing my back into the wall scared. Out of fear I closed my eyes too scared to see what was going on.

Cody looked over at me walking over and brushing my cheek softly.

I jumped and looked up at him. "He didn't hurt you now did he darlin?" He whispered softly looking me in the eye.

His voice was so calm and full of caring. I couldn't manage to pull words together. I shook my head no and looked down feeling ashamed. "I'm in heat aren't I?" I asked quietly.

Cody swallowed hard and lifted my chin. "I'm afraid so. This is my fault. I'll take blame for this but we can't right now. But I can take some of the heat away if you want me to." He whispered softly.

I looked up at him his eyes full of lust and worry. "W...what happens if you don't take some of the heat away?" I asked softly. Part of me wanted him badly.

Cody swallowed hard and looked at me. "If I don't take care of it right now your body will become hungrier for me. Your mind will become fuzzy as if you are drunk and the heat will try to mate you with any male to get rid of the heat. That's why I need to protect you. If you let me do some things to you the heat will calm down enough for us to try to enjoy the night some." He explained

I swallowed hard thinking it over. I looked back up at him and wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him into a kiss. At first he was shocked but soon was kissing me back. Butterflies filled my stomach.

I had never experienced anything like this before. But I wanted to experience it over and over with him. I was accepting him as my mate, and I enjoyed it.

Cody pulled back catching his breath. He pressed his forehead into mine breathing hard. "The scent of your heat is intoxicating." He whispered and brushed my lower lip with his thumb.

"What the hell is going on here!" Jet yelled.
