After school got out Star walked very cautiously to her house. She would look around her almost every second. What was a 15 minute walk turned into what felt like hours. Eventually Star did make it back to her house.
She needed something to cheer her up, and she knew exactly what she was going to do. Binge watch the entirety of her favorite T.V. Show. She watched, and watched, for hours. At the end of it she felt a lot better.
She microwaved some pizza for dinner, and sat in bed. She decided that instead of just sulking around she would remember some of her memories. She remembered swimming with her sister and her parents out in the ocean. Then all the bad memories started rushing back to her. She remembered the storm. She remembered her parents saying they would be back after a quick swim. That was the last time Star talked to them. After so long Star and Candy grabbed an umbrella and walked outside. They saw their parents being taken away by scientists. All because they where sirens. All because people where afraid. After she saw what fear could do to people she acted braver, she became more fearless. Although not everyone can completely escape fear.
Star remembered how much it had hurt her sister. She remembered being scared and alone. Candy wanted to be there for her but she couldn't stand to stay in the same town that had hurt her so much. Star would have left too except for the fact that she had to go to high school. She had to try to make friends again. She had too because, she knew she was making her parents proud.
