Chapter 4 : Just Got In

Kyle's POV

I saw Kana being dragged away by school's admission exam proctotor. I told her it was just  some sort of health exam so she won't feel nervous.  I now wait for her outside the room along with my friends Greg and Josh who volunteered to keep me company.

'Is Kana single? how old she? why didn't we met her before? Greg poundered

'Greg she's single but off limits, she's just 15 and you never met her because she lives with Uncle Lazarus who lived away from us.' I grumply answered. Even though, I only met Kana recently, I had grown fond and overprotective of her and so is the rest of our family. Her bright warm attitude made the household oozing with happy ambiance.

'Well she have your Uncle's raven black hair.'  Luke said. Then, we heard a an explosion which raised me panickly from my seat but Luke held my arm shaking his head sideways. I eventually calmed down thinking how admission exams should not be interrupted as to respect the examinee's privacy.

Then, Ms. Pettersen went out of the room with Kana following behind. She bowed her head deeply "I apologize for what I did Ms. Pettersen, I didn't meant to..." She was cut off her sentence by Ms. Pettersen who put her hand in Kana's shoulders and had a glint of amazement in her eyes.

"It's alright Kana, I should have been more cautious and prepared in facilitating. Your going to be great just like your father!" she excitedly exclaimed hugging her.

"Don't hesitate to come to me if you need anything! Consider me like your second mother. Oh but then again that would mean Lazarus Prime is my husband' Mr. Petersen, squelled like a girl as she hand over Kana's color badge and left us all behind.

Okay so for reference, a color badge represents the student's ability ranking in the academy. The admission exam is facilitated to know the capability and skill set of each examinee and distinguish which subjects is most stuitable to them. Blue is given to primes. Red is for excellent students. Orange for above average. Yellow for average and Green for below average wolves. Mine's Blue since I'm the air prime.

'So Kana, how was it? I asked in anticipation 'Fine I guess' she shrugged her shoulders ' She gave me this' showing a red badge that made me smirked over my two friends 'What is it for?' she asked cluelessly furrowing her brows. 'It means that you did well Kana' I said proudly hugging her.

Greg and Luke came over to congrats Kana who still looks clueless on what just happened.We escorted her to the girls dorm and waited until she mindlinked me that she had settled down since we guys can't enter.

Kana's POV

Its already 11 pm and I can't seem to calm down. I feel restless with my wolf wanting to be let free in the wild. Something is pulling me to go for a run. And so I slipped out of the dorm running towards the forest. I shifted to my silver-gray wolf and came to a halt when I reached a lake. After I made sure that no one is around I shifted back to my human form.

I sat at a three bark and stared at the moon. It shines brightly in its full form over the lake. Thereby, creating a mesmerizing sight. The place was so peaceful that I zoned out drifting to sleep.  After a while,  I felt a hand tapped on my cheeks and warm breath fanning on the crook of my neck. My eyes are still closed but I felt sparks and tingles on my body. I snuggled closer and I stayed liked that for a while enjoying the comfort I'm engulfed to. It smelled woodsky that helped calmed my reslentess. Then I heard  a deep husky voice ' Sleep, my love'. Once again I fell into slumber.

Marcus POV

I was going home from a meeting in the academy. It ended late as we discussed various immediate points at hand to ponder. I am the Alpha King, it is my job to lead and make sure of the welfare of my were-people. Either rogues causing a bit of trouble and finding a Luna had been the two topics that kept springing out in discussions in every meeting I went to over the years so they bore me. However, amongst other agenda's tonight what piqued my interest is the school's proctor, Ms. Pettersen's report that there are a lot of first year students with warrior potentials and a highly-skilled first year joined the academy. According to her, it was such a long time since someone who's not a prime almost topped all the major requisites such as Strength, Knowledge and reached perfect rating in the both Accuracy and Agility stats that riveled the record of Lazarus Prime, known as the 'GodSpeed of The East' who came back recently to help his nephew lead the family of air primes.

Seating at the back seat of the SUV, exhausted, I heaved a sigh. The full moon tonight came into vision and I started itching for a run.

'Stop the Car' I ordered my Chauffer in Alpha Tone. I minlinked my Beta Josh who is also the prime of water that I'll be running a bit in the woods. With that I went to the nearby forest and shifted.

My pure white wolf emerged and I felt the night breeze seeping through my fur.

'Its been a while since we ran' said my wolf Ram. 'Yeah' I responded. As a member of the royal family, my wolf is bigger than an average wolf and the primes. Being a white wolf signified that I am the King that descended from the ruling family blessed by the  Moon Goddess with many powers.

I stopped on my tracks as I reach the middle of forest when the most intoxicating smell hit my nose. It smelled like marshmallows.  'Mate' said Ram. This surprised me because one of the power's given by the moon goddess to the Alpha King is the liberty to select a mate & Luna but the other party must choose & fall in love with him in order to form the mate bond. And here my wolf is choosing his mate based on smell and without even seeing her.

'You can't be serious, we didn't even know her' I argued. The Queen Luna is highly important because she will rule beside the Alpha King. Choosing the wrong mate can put the were kingdom into chaos. 'I am very serious. As for knowing why don't you meet her &  start know.' Ram replied smug confindent.

I bolted to the source of the scent but the scent grew fainter by the minute so I ran following it. Then, I lost it. I tried sniffing through the air but the smell is gone. Maybe its my  imagination I thought.

'No its not' argued Ram.

'Its alright Ram, I've lived  long enough that I don't think I'll ever find a Luna.It's not like I'm looking for her anyway' I said thriving to convince myself that I don't need one. Time by time my council members would suggest I meet women from prime families and choose someone as my Queen Luna. Living for 376 years, there are times I would consider it but I just can't do it. A part of me tells it is a wise decision to continue the family lineage but the other side of me wanted to wait for my chosen mate.

Chuckling unhumoursly, I shifted back and walked until I reach a lake. My wolf kept encouraging me to walk which I did while enjoying the scenic view of the moon reflection glistening over the lake.

I then smell the same scent but I continued looking over the water since I don't want to assume again.

*Thud, I ran over something.

Moving my gaze, there she is, sleeping in the three bark. By this time the overly sweet scent of  marshmallow is all over the place. 'Mate' once again said by Ram. I held her cheeks, trying to feel if she's real. Coming incontact with her skin made me feel the sparks that I longed for. Her waist length, wavy long black hair complements her beautiful face. She's a bit shorter from me but scanning her body in white cotton off-shoulder shirt that falls inches above her knee, showing her legs. She has curves in the right places and a bit of muscles. Her flawless fair skin glistenned under the moonlight.

And just like that, I fell inlove at first sight.
