The next day...
>>>>>Hayate
I got a text from Kaimoto telling us he wants to meet with us today.
Everyone stayed over. Kayori often stayed over when we were kids because sometimes her parents had to go on business trips and my grandma was her babysitter. So Kayori had always had a room in my house.
I tried to get the boys to share the basement but they hate each other for some reason.
I mean I know similars repel but this is ridiculous!!
Yesterday they glared at each others for like 10 minutes before Kayori and I decided to get them away from each other by taking them to different locations.
She took Pinto went to get Ice-cream to help him calm down and I took Akira to the Sketchy Cafe to see Hattori.
He's always looked up to Hattori and the latter was thrilled to have him back.
Then we met back up and I told them they could stay in the guest room in the basement, but they wouldn't have it.
"I'm not staying anywhere with this loser" Akira had said
"Loser?!?! You creep, you wanna go?!?!?" Pinto had said challenging him
I figured it would only go downhill from there so I let Pinto have the guest room by himself and Akira shared my room.
This morning Kayori came and woke me up reminding me of our meeting with Kaimoto.
I quickly got up and got ready and she went to get Pinto
We let Akira sleep in so he wouldn't be in the same room with Pinto....we need Pinto to focus.
>>>>Kayori
Kaimoto should be here any minute.
Hayate, Pinto and I are in the living room arranging the photo's we have so far and talking about the case.
Akira is upstairs asleep.
It's funny I refer to them with their real names. I used to call Akira and Pinto "Jerk number 1" and "Jerk number 2".
Pinto would be upset with that order because he's convinced he's a bigger jerk than Akira, but Akira has done things that say otherwise.
Then I heard a knock on the door and the three of us scrambled to answer it
"Only one of us needs to answer it" I said
"And it should be me" Pinto said
"No, it's MY house!!" Said Hayate
"Omg! Really guys! I'm suddenly too mature for this!" I said going back to sit down.
The boys blocked each other from getting the door and Pinto ended up knocking Hayate over
They wrestled on the floor
Meanwhile Hayate had accidently left the door open the night before so Kaimoto just opened the door and stepped over the boys wrestling on the ground!!
"Just ignore them" I said.
"No problem!" He said. "OK, so first things first let me show you guys what I know about real disappearances"
I sat up higher in my chair
"So, unfortunately this isn't my first rodeo, last year a kid disappeared and since I was a rookie, I didn't get much info on him. I just knew his last name was K...."
"Woah!" I exclaimed suddenly. I stared at him and nodded to the boys on the floor
"What's wrong" Kaimoto asked innocently, "Why can't they know who disappeared?"
I looked at him again
"Unless..."
I groaned and dragged Kaimoto out of the room
"Kayori?" Kaimoto asked me when we were a safe distance from the living room
"Are either Hayate or Pinto the kid who disappeared last year?"
