I cooled my head off while I was in the bathroom and decided to allow the strawberry blond to explain. Still, I couldn't wrap my head around his unbelievable story. A cat who can turn human? It's stupid if you ask me.
After I finished, I wrapped myself with the towel I used earlier and got out of the room.
As soon as I made eye contact with Loke, he turned away.
"What's gotten into you?"
"You only have your towel on.. I know I may seem like a pervert but I respect you more than you think I do." the way he said it with his cheeks flushed made me feel some heat rise to my cheeks.
If he really was the cat from a while ago, then the reason why it kept turning its head away from me when I had it cleaned was because of that?
"Wow." I said.
"Wow what?"
"You're cute." I teased.
"Mind you, I could play you if I wanted to." He said as he busied himself playing with Plue.
"Perv."
"Hurry and dress up, we'll talk once you're done."
"Okay."
"Why don't you go inform the office about your arrival? Don't you have any stuff for your side of the room?" I asked while rummaging through my clothes in the closet.
"Oh yeah, I left my stuff at the office the last time I was in this building. I'll go get them." He said as he stood up and left the room.
As I finished dressing up, I got down to pet Plue. He seems to have really taken a liking to that Loke guy.
"He seems like a nice person, huh?" I asked smiling to myself.
"I hope we get along."
A few minutes later Loke arrived with a bag and a stroller and 2 drinks in hand.
"Well, you took longer than I expected." I said walking towards him.
"I bought some drinks. Here's your favorite. Catch." He said as he suddenly threw a can of soda at me.
I caught the soda can with both hands. It actually was my favorite.
"Hey, how did you know it was my favorite?"
"I told you, I'm your cat. I'm your Leo." He said smirking. "You bought it this morning so I figured, y'know."
I realized it was the same one I bought when I got tired of chasing Leo.
'Leo, huh?' I thought.
"How can you prove to me that you actually are Leo and not just some crazy stalker who's been following us all day?" I asked.
"You wore sexy red underwear today. Lace type." He answered with a straight face.
"Wha- Don't you have any other proof other than that?"
"Well.. don't you find it weird that your cat suddenly disappeared when you were kissing it? Your door and bathroom windows were locked, it had no other way to escape."
I thought about it. To be honest, I had a gut feeling that I should believe in him but it's impossible!
"It's just so hard to believe you. How can an animal turn into a human?"
"Technically, I'm a spirit."
"A spirit?"
"I belong to another world or dimension or whatever you want to call it. It's called the Spirit World."
"What does any of that have to do with me?"
"You've been followed by a series of unfortunate luck. The Spirit King himself tasked me to guide you. Fun, right?"
"Unfortunate luck? You mean when I got kicked out of the apartment?"
"Not only that, try to remember yourself. You've been very unlucky for months. Your father suddenly left you with a huge debt. Your works have barely been recognized and published at your office. You've been unlucky with earning money, getting fired from a few part-time jobs, one of which you didn't even last for a week. If that isn't enough, I don't know what is." He said putting his hands on his pockets.
"Okay, okay. I get it. I'm unlucky." I sat down on the bed feeling bad about myself.
He walked towards me and bent down. "But none of it is your fault at all, Lucy. Cheer up. I'm here so you don't need to be sad anymore, okay?"
I looked at him and felt my cheeks burn when I saw his face so close to mine and I quickly looked away. He chuckled.
"But I don't think I'm that unlucky.. I found this space for a cheap price so that's okay."
"I came to you immediately after you got kicked out. I couldn't leave you out in the streets so I got you this room. Bear with it while you can."
"You've been with me since the very start? What happened to the guy that used to occupy this room?"
"Well, you see, that man ran away from home. He couldn't admit to his parents about his sexuality so he ended up here for months. His parents were worried sick. The whole time they actually knew and were just waiting for the son to open up."
"What happened then?"
"I took care of the whole situation. Had the man's parents call him and he immediately left. That's when I rented my side of this room and made sure the news immediately got to you."
"You're good." I said in amazement.
"I know. Wanna know what else I'm good at?" He said with a wink.
"What?" I dared him rolling my eyes. He was flirting, he can't be serious.
"This." He said as he went closer and closer to my face.
I backed away at his every advancement and ended up flat on the bed. He was basically on top of me.
His face got closer and closer to mine and I tightly closed my eyes.
"No."
I then felt his lips on my neck.
