Gon's group has been trapped by the vipers that blocked the exit. But the vipers' master, Bourbon, is already dead.
"The one who sets this trap is dead? How?" Kurapika asked.
"I killed him. I won't tell you how" Ponzu answers.
"Gon, take Leorio" Kurapika gives Leorio to Gon. Kurapika goes to Bourbon's corpse. When he reaches his hand, the vipers falls down.
"It's no use. You won't be able to search his body. The snakes are trained to attack the moment anyone who touches their master or leave the cave" Ponzu said and Kurapika saw wounds on Bourbon's hands.
"So you used poison to fight poison. Judging from his wounds, you must have used Neurotoxic Bees. He probably died from anaphylactic shock" Kurapika predicts.
"Anaphylactic shock?" Kurapika nods.
"When a bee stings a human, the human produces antibodies to counter the venom. But if that human is stung again by the same kind of bee, they experience an allergic reaction" Kurapika said.
"An extreme allergic reaction is known as anaphylactic shock. Depending on the circumstances, it can be fatal"
"You got me. That's exactly what happened.
"So you used bees to kill him?" Gon asked.
"Bourbon was my target. After confirming that he'd entered the cave, I sprayed sleeping gas into the entrancel, and waited until it was safe to enter. Bourbon sound asleep, but he'd already set his trap. The sleeping gas didn't reach mosdt of his snake that were hiding in the crack at the back of the cave. Well, I jumped back in time, so I wasn't bitten in snakes. But that triggered my attack switch" Ponzu touches her hat and then bees come out.
"You keep bees up there?" Kurapika asked suprised.
"If I scream or collapse, they'll attack nearby humans. I didn't expect him to die. How could I have known that he'd already been stung once? And I couldn't help him because of the snakes. Well, it was beyond of my control anyway. You can come back now" the bees goes back at Ponzu's hat.
"The problem is that he's dead, but the viper traps are still active. And we can't ask him or look away for to disarm it. We're trapped with no escape" Ponzu said and Leorio is suffering.
"Leorio..."
"I've already given up. We have to wait for the examiners to come and safe us"
"The examiners?" Kurapika said in confusion.
"You're saying that they'll rescue us from this cave"
"You didn't know? Our ID tags contain a tracking device. The examiners can locate each applicant. If someone hasn't return by the deadline, the examiners will look for them. Though this won't work if you lose your tag or if someone takes it from you. Fortunately, there's only one day left. The best course would be to give up for this year and wait for help"
"We cannot do that. Leorio's conditon is worsening. We must take him to a doctor immediately"
"The examiners won't move until the deadline passes. If you don't have your tag, you'll basically be left or dead. It's his own fault. I warned him"
Flashback
"Kurapika! Gon! Don't come in! The snakes..." the snakes charged and bite him.
End of Flashback
"All you can do is pray that he holds out until help arrives"
"No there is still a way. With a good chance for success. But if he isn't carrying any on his person, we'll have another victim"

Meanwhile, Killua and Chika walks while having a conversation.
"And then, he found me. Do you know what I did?"
"What?"
"I kicked under him and he cried" Killua laughs.
"THAT'S HILARIOUS!"
"I know right. Then I..." Killua and Chika senses someone inside the cave when they pass by. She stops.
"Killua..."
"I know. There's someone inside" Killua and Chika goes infront of the entrance.
"HEY!"
"Hey, Chika!"
"It's probably Gon's in here. HEY!"
"Is that... CHIKA?!" Kurapika asked.
"CHIKA!"
"Told ya it's him. I'M WITH KILLUA. WE'RE GOING IN!"
"DON'T COME HERE!" Kurapika warns them.
"Huh? Kurapika too?"
"THERE ARE SNAKES IN HERE! ONCE YOU ENTER, YOU CAN'T GET OUT!"
"Snakes? What do we do, Killua?" Killua thinks.
"Was that Kurapika?" Chika nods.
"He said that once we enter, we can't get out. So it means they fell into a trap. I guess that when they get into this cave and try to go back, the snakes appeared so there must be snakes in these cracks"
"Snakes in the cracks, huh?"
"KILLUA! CHIKA! DON'T WORRY ABOUT US!" Gon shouts.
"Huh?"
"WE'LL BE OK! SO DON'T WORRY! WE'LL THINK A WAY TO GET OUT!"
"Hm... He'll probably do something stupid. Let's just wait for them. Besides, I don't want them to show my ability" Chika said and sits beside the tree.
"Let's wait here" Chika said.
"Okay. You say so. GON! WE'LL WAIT FOR YOU HERE!" Killua shouts.
"OKAY!" Gon said.
"Gon, we should tell..."
"Before me ask for help, look after Leorio" Gon stands up and approaches Bourbon
"Hey, Gon!"
"Wait, what are you doing? Didn't you hear what I just said? Hello?" Ponzu asked. Gon reaches his hand and Ponzu panicks. The vipers bites him.
"Gon..."
"H-he's crazy..."
"FOUND IT!" Gon founds the antidote.
"Kurapika!" Gon throws the serum to Kurapika.
"Gon!" Gon falls down and the vipers crawls away.
"Use it on Leorio quick..." Kurapika injects the antidote to Leorio.
"All right. You're next"
"Yeah..."
"I don't believe it... He jumped into a nest of poisonous snakes to search an antidote not even knowing he had it" Ponzu said.
"The odd were in his favor" Kurapika said.
"What?"
"If you're going to poison someone, you'd need the antidote at hand, as a bargaining chip"
"That's true but..."
"That said, it took an incredible amount of courage to do what he just did. Leorio's condition is stabilizing. He should be fine"
