Finally Found Someone

Chapter 22

I can imagine you being happier with someone else. But I can't imagine myself being happy with someone other than you.

It's been three days since that holiday getaway in La Union. Apat na araw na lang at pasko na. Andito ako ngayon sa bahay nakahiga lang sa aking kama. Since everybody's busy doing Christmas decorations. I heard a knock on the door. "Good morning baby" It was dad. I got up from bed and I rest my head on the headboard.

"Good morning Daddy! Wala ka bang meeting today?" I said. I remember that even holidays they still go to work. "It's almost Christmas. Kailangan din naman ng mga employees ng holiday break." I love the sound of that. So it means complete kami ngayong pasko. "Well that's great! Magagawa na natin ang palagi nating ginagawa for Christmas."

Dad chuckled. I know what he's thinking. "You can't beat me this time Dad. Ikaw kaya ang palaging talo samin ni Ahia Travis" I laughed. Dad is about to open his mouth when we heard a knock. "Hey I heard my name!" It was Ahia Travis. "We're just discussing about our little Christmas game that we used to play when you two were still kids." Dad said.

Then ilang minuto pumasok si mommy. "It seems that you three are happy here without me." Mom pouted at napatingin naman kami ni Ahia Travis sa isa't isa. "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" I grinned and nodded to Ahia Travis. Na gets naman ni Dad kung anong ibig naming sabihin. "Oh kayong tatlo. Huwag niyo akong tingnan ng ganyan."

Mom started to panic. Before she could run away, nahuli na siya ni dad. Ahia Travis and I ran into her and started to tickle her. "Li—Li—a! Tama na!" Mom cried in laughter. Ang saya saya naming apat. Hindi namin namalayan na kinunan pala kami ni Yaya Aliya ng litrato. "This is the best holiday break ever!!" I said happily.

After namin magbonding sa kwarto ko, inayos ko ang sarili ko dahil magkikita kami ni Chad today. We haven't seen each other for days dahil busy rin siya at kakagaling ko rin ng La Union. Mamayang gabi, there is a simple Christmas party at the D. Corporation. I felt my phone vibrated and I saw Chad's caller id. "Hey baby. Are you ready?" I smiled before responding.

He never fails to make me smile everyday even if it's just in simple ways. "Yeah, I'm actually waiting for you outside the gate." Para akong ewan dito na ngumingiti. "Look to your right baby" I shifted my gaze at my left direction at nakitang kong papalapit ang isang pulang sasakyan. He went down the car and directly walked into me. He kissed my temple and that made me smiled.

"It's so good to see you! Damn I miss you" He said without hesitation. I held his hand and intertwined them to mine. "I miss you too. Let's go?" He nodded. Bago pa kami makapasok ng sasakyan niya, we heard someone cleared a throat. "Where do you think you're going?" Ahia Travis gave me a stern look. I gulped. "Hey, I asked permission to mom and dad already" He's still giving me that stern look. "Stop giving me that look Travis!" Inis kong sabi.

"Be back at exactly 5pm! We still have an event to go to." He said and I just shook in disbelief. "You take care of my sister Zeke. I'm watching you" I glared at him and Chad just nodded. Ahia Travis turned his back on us and left. "Hey I'm sorry about Ahia." I sighed. "No, it's okay. I understand. He just loves you that much."

Habang nasa byahe, tahimik lang kami ni Chad. I rested my head in his shoulder. He held my other hand intertwined them with his. "Saan ba tayo pupunta?" He kissed my hair before answering me. "It's a surprise. And besides, we're almost there" Hindi na ako nagsalita. I squeezed myself into him like he's my pillow.

"Sir andito na po tayo." I heard manong driver said. "Tatay Bert, ilang beses ko na sinabi sayo na Chad na lang" He chuckled. "Nako po, pasensya na po kayo. Sige po Chad. Enjoy po ko kayo ni Miss ganda" Napakamot siya sa ulo niya. I smiled at him.

We went down the car and I was surprised kung nasaan kami. He brought me to a amusement park. "Did you like my surprise?" He's hugging me behind my back. "Are you kidding me? I love it!" I let go of his hug and I faced him. "Thank you for making me happy all the time. Kahit sa mga simpleng paraan lang." I can see happiness in his eyes. He's really happy and with that, my heart is full. Inaya si Chad sumakay sa isang Carousel. Para kaming mga bata. "Ahhhh Chad ang saya saya ko" I raised my hands and just felt the air. After naming mag carousel, doon naman kami sa pirate ship ride.

And the next we knew, nakaramdam kami ng gutom. Bumili si Chad ng dalawang corn dog and bottled water. "Uhm Chad, can I ask something? This is just out of curiosity" He stared at me for a while before nodding his head. "Uhh, do you also do this to Serina? I— I mean—" He cut me off. "Ayan ka naman. Napagusapan na natin to ah?"

I bow down my head and close my fist. I can't help myself. He suddenly lift my chin up and he took a heavy sighed. "When we we're dating three years ago, I'm usually taking her to a fancy restaurants. Not because I want to, but because she insists." I just looked at him. Hindi ako nagsalita. "When we reached our anniversary, I tried to cook food for her. All I want is a simple celebration."

He sighed. "But she insisted again. She wants me to take her to an expensive restaurant or do some romantic gestures. So I had enough. I can't stand her anymore. Kahit mahal ko siya... Noon." So this Serina girl is a brat. No wonder Chad couldn't stand her.

"And one time, I tried wooing her. I bought flowers and tried writing her a letter. I know deep down that I'm not that type of guy but I still did it because I loved her. But my heart sank when I saw her having sex with my best friend." He tried to calm his self. His calm hands turned into fist. I held it. "You don't have to continue. I get it. I'm sorry for asking and this might ruin our date. Minsan na nga lang to, sinira ko pa. I'm sorry."

I said sadly. I startled when he hugged me. "I wanted to scream and tell the world how lucky I am to have you. Not because you're simple but because you know how to appreciate little things. I love you!" I let of his hug and cupped his face. "Ako ang ma swerte sayo. You loved me even more when I couldn't love myself."

We checked the time and it's already 4:30pm. Napagisipan naming ni Chad na umalis na. I told him that my dad's having a simple Christmas party at our company. "If I don't have any agendas going to, sana tumagal pa tong date na to."

He chuckled and messed with my hair. "It's okay. We still have a lot of time." Then he kissed my temple. I squeezed myself into him and hugged him so tight. Damn! He smells good. When we reached my home, sabay kaming bumaba. "Thank you po manong driver" I winked at him at tumawa naman ng mahina si manong. "I had a great time today." I said with full honesty. He held my both hands and kissed them.

"I can imagine you being happier with someone else. But I can't imagine myself being happy with someone other than you." I put my finger in his lips. "Don't ruin this moment Chad. I'll always be happy whenever I'm with you" I suddenly pulled him and I lean a kiss on his lips. "I love you, too Mr. Chad Ezekiel Lim" Naiwan siyang tulala ng pumasok na ako ng gate.
