Chosen as a Vampire's Mate

Alex’s POV

When I first saw her she was only nine years old. She was beautiful, a little girl wearing a blue dress with a white sweater. She had brown wavy hair with curly ends. Light complexion with hazel eyes and pink bright lips.

I was twenty five years and have been for 200 hundred years I had never felt this way for anyone until I met her. I felt a strong connection as soon as I saw her. As I stood a few feet away she looked up and stared back at me. I stared back mesmerized by her presence as she blinked her eyes and stood up.

Suddenly Vivienne (one of the vampires that had been at the meeting earlier) appeared beside her.

“Ready?” she asked her breaking the connection between us.

Lilly nodded up at Vivienne and nodded looking back at me. Vivienne must’ve sensed me looking because she turned around.

Lilly’s POV

The vampire that was looking over at me was handsome. I knew he was a vampire because my Aunt Vivienne had been raisng me since my parents died when I was seven years old in a car accident.

She had told me that she had been watching over my mother’s generation for about 400 hundred years on and off. She took me in since my mother had been an only child like me and my father’s brother had four kids already to look after. This was my last year since she wanted me to live with my mother’s cousin, Elena.

I curiously stared back at the vampire who seemed younger than my aunt. He was tall and he looked  strong too. He had brown hair and blue eyes with pale skin.

“Who is this ? he asked my aunt coming closer.

My aunt stood slightly in front of me and simply said, “This is Lilly, my niece.”

“Oh, I see, hello Lilly nice to meet you I’m Alex Mason.”

“Hi,” I held out my hand to shake his, but my aunt caught it in midair and held on to it.

“Where’s her parents?” Alex asked raising an eyebrow and keeping his eyes on me.

“They’re dead so she’s living with me for now. She’s going to live with her aunt,” then she added “her mortal aunt.”

“Hmm..that’s a pity why doesn’t she”---

My aunt interrupted and Alex by turning around and looked down at me..

“Lilly can you go to the girl’s bathroom I need to talk to Alex alone, ok?”

“Ok,” I said as I turned around to the bathroom nearby. As I walked away I could feel Alex watching me.

Alex POV

Watching Lilly walk away made me feel anxious and upset that Vivienne had refused to allow her to shake my hand. Damn, why was I so attracted to this little girl?

“I intend to keep her with mortals and away from vampires. I don’t want her growing up in a world that is dangerous and not for her,” Vivienne said bringing my attention back to her.

I looked at her and smiled, “What makes you think she will be safe with mortals? What if she’s not treated well what then?”

She frowned and she folded her hands in front of her, “I’m sure she will be fine and don’t you dare think about coming near her. She will grow up with mortals like I want her to.”

Damn, it must have been obvious I was attracted to Lilly since I came into my defense, “Why would I hurt Lilly?”

She chuckled, “I’ve noticed the way you’ve been looking at her all this time. I may not be watching her always but stay away, Alex Mason. You’re a player and I wont have you coming close to her and playing with her.”
