The flight attendant scans my ticket and hands it back to me, smiling.
I look at where it says I'm sitting and it reads B2. I ask Grace what her's says and she shows me that it says B5. I ask everyone else going what they have but only Zach is sitting near me at B1. As we walk into the plane itself, we find our seats and put our bags above them, then sit down. "Yes! Window seat again!" Zach says to me.
I wonder who will sit next to me?
Right after asking myself I see someone and my mood drops.
Chase.
Please don't sit next to me. Please don't sit next to me.
"Ooh. Finally a familiar face, and a pretty one at that," he says. Zach turns and sees him, his eyes turning from bright blue to much darker than I'd ever seen them.
"Chase," he says spitting it out as if his name were dirt. "What are you doing here?" glaring at him.
Acting as if he didn't see the looks given to him, he smiled and said, "I'm going to Orlando. Now if you'd excuse me I need to sit down." He gestures to the flight attendant giving him a stern look.
"Why are you still here then?" I ask. "Because it says B3 on my ticket sweetheart. Now anymore questions?" he asks, sitting down next to me.
"Why would you, of all people, be the one put next to me, on this plane?!" I yell at him, staring right at him.
"Because fate wants you and me together, babe," he says to me, putting his arm around me, with that signature smirk I fell in love with.
Oh, you're probably wondering who this Chase guy is.
He's my ex-boyfriend, the boyfriend for eight months, the ex for barely a week. We broke up last week when he found out I was going to Florida because he wanted to spend the entire summer with me. The selfish jerk dumped me and I spent the entire day in my room watching reruns of Hannah Montana on Netflix. Him and Zach grew together a lot from bonding over football. Zach was just as upset as I was, and actually came into my room right away and started watching the episodes of Hannah Montana with me..
"YOU were the one that dumped ME. Why are you trying to get us back together?" I asked him, then removed his arm still around me. I turned to Zach who was glaring at Chase and said, "Don't worry, we'll just ignore him for the next four and a half hours."
"Secrets don't make friends babe," Chase said, and then whispered in my ear, "but we can keep secrets from your brother if you want to sneak out now," and he snuck a quick kiss on my cheek. I lifted up the hood on my sweatshirt so neither boy would see me blushing. I still had some feelings for Chase but I couldn't let him know. And besides, we were heading to Florida. Home of tan boys with amazing abs. Right?
Zach saw what he did and pulled me towards him. "Leave my sister alone you piece of s-"
"ALRIGHT PASSENGERS. WELCOME ABOARD FLIGHT 526 FROM LOS ANGELES TO ORLANDO. DUE TO UNEXPECTED SHOWERS, THE FLIGHT WILL BE DELAYED ANYWHERE FROM TWENTY MINUTES TO AN HOUR. PLEASE STAY SEATED, AS WE WILL START SERVING SOON, SINCE THE WAIT TIME IS UNKNOWN. THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION."
Are you kidding me?!
"Seriously?!" Zach yells, "We get stuck next to him for an already long flight and now we have to wait even longer?!" He turns to me and says, "I'm sorry Mals. Just ignore that dirtbag."
"Ouch. Dirtbag? I'm hurt man. What happened to all those days of football?" Chase asked, leaning around me to face Zach.
"Can't we all just listen to music and ignore each other?" I said, in hopes of getting them to be quiet.
"Fine," Zach said, putting his earbuds in.
"Listening to your voice is already music to my ears, Mals," Chase said to me, winking.
"Just put your headphones on," I said, trying not to smile while pointing to his iPhone. I put mine on and turned on the playlist I had going earlier.
*TWENTY MINUTES LATER*
"THE RAIN HAS PASSED AND WE CAN NOW BEGIN PREPARATIONS FOR FLIGHT 526 TO LEAVE FOR ORLANDO. THANK YOU. WE WILL LEAVE SHORTLY."
Thank God. The less time I spend with Chase, the better.
I put my headphones back in and resume my music. It's then I realize how little sleep I got last night, and how tired I am now.
Ehh I have almost 5 hours, why not take a nap?
And I slowly fell asleep after that thought.
